A man has died after being pulled from his car and stabbed, sparking a manhunt for the knifeman.

Emergency services were called to a busy car park on Hope Island, on the Gold Coast, at around 2.20pm on Monday to reports of a man who had been stabbed.

On arrival they found a man in his 30s with serious stab wounds to his chest and despite the desperate efforts of paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A local resident said they “hadn’t seen so many police cars in one place” when officers arrived on the scene and are now hunting for two men.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia a crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.

Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage as they try to identify two men in their mid to late 20s. Courier mail reports.

One of the men was last seen wearing a beige knit sweater and neck tattoos, while the other was said to have black hair and was wearing sunglasses and a bright yellow high-vis shirt.

Police are said to have tracked one man to Sanctuary Cove, a nearby luxury resort, and set up roadblocks as they continued the investigation.

A local resident reported seeing a ‘suspicious-looking’ man running around one of the resort’s two gold courses, adding that he was ‘definitely not playing golf’.

Another claimed that police searched every vehicle leaving a shopping center just meters away from the crime scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
