Battle for best dressed at the Oscars! Margot Robbie swaps Barbie pink for black after snub while Ariana Grande, Zendaya, Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong’o bring the glamor on red carpet

The 96th Academy Awards red carpet kicked off in style on Sunday, with the biggest stars on the planet descending upon Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles in their most glamorous looks.

Margot Robbie, who starred as the iconic character Barbie in last summer’s biggest box office hit, swapped pink for a sleek black Versace gown – as she stunned on the red carpet.

Ariana Grande wowed in a voluminous custom pink Giambatista Valli Haute Couture gown – after her triumphant return to music with her new album Eternal Sunshine and her upcoming role in Wicked.

Zendaya looked incredible in a black and pink shimmering one-shoulder Giorgio Armani Prive look as she commanded attention on the red carpet.

Jennifer Lawrence dazzled in a black and white polka-dot Dior Haute Couture gown while Lupita Nyong’o slipped on a baby blue fringe accented custom Giorgio Armani dress, adding a statement three-dimensional gold purse.

Margot, 33, looked absolutely beautiful in a shimmery sequin black Versace gown, which featured a rounded neckline and a ruching detail along her waist.

The blonde bombshell paired her gown with a diamond and gold bracelet and ring, with her blonde tresses loose and center parted.

The movie star, who starred in Barbie the movie as the title character, kept her makeup to a minimum, opting to showcase her stunning natural beauty.

Ariana, 30, looked pretty in pink, wearing a custom bubblegum hued Giambatista Valli Haute Couture gown, adding a diamond and jeweled necklace with coordinating earrings.

The beauty’s strapless frock was ruched, paired with a three-dimensional puffy cover up, which she wore off her shoulders.

Ariana’s new album Eternal Sunshine was released just days prior, marking her seventh album she has released.

The beauty has been rocking blonde locks for the past year, due to her role in the upcoming Wicked films; she stars as Galinda Upland, who later becomes Glinda the Good.

Zendaya, who just returned back to the states after a worldwide promotional tour for Dune: Part Two, looked like the epitome of glamour in her red carpet look. 

The 27-year-old Euphoria star dropped jaws in a black and pink sequin number by Giorgio Armani Prive; the one-shoulder look also had a sweetheart neckline.

The striking gown had pink silky elements mixed in with the black sequin portions, resulting in a unique and incredible look.

Zendaya added gorgeous pink toned earrings and wore her brunette hair curled at the ends for a beautiful touch. Her jewels are from Bulgari.

Jennifer, 33, arrived in a stunning black and white polka-dot printed Dior Spring 2024 Haute Couture gown.

The mom of one, who is married to Cooke Maroney, has been an ambassador for the fashion house since 2012.

Jennifer’s frock had a fitted corset top-half and a flowing skirt; the eye-catching number had an asymmetrical neckline that had a draped element along one arm. 

The Oscar winner styled her long blonde hair with a deep side part, adding minimal makeup to highlight her beauty. 

Lupita, 41, dazzled in a custom Giorgio Armani powder blue gown; the frock had a peplum waist with feathered accents and crystal embellishments.

The movie star added De Beers earrings, bracelets and rings. 

Emma Stone wowed in a striking strapless mint hued gown, featuring a peplum waist. She is a wearing Louis Vuitton dress and Louis Vuitton High Jewelry.

Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt dazzled in a shimmering cream and silver frock, complete with a layered diamond necklace. Emily is wearing Schiaparelli Spring 2024 Haute Couture with Tiffany & Co. jewels.

Charlize Theron looked like an ethereal goddess in a sleek silver Dior Haute Couture number, which had an asymmetrical neckline.

The blonde beauty wore large diamond earrings that complemented her statement diamond necklaces. She is wearing Boucheron jewels.

Dune: Part Two star Florence Pugh looked breathtaking in a silver gown, which featured a three-dimensional top-half and a sleek silver bottom. Florence is wearing Del Core Spring 2024 with a Buglari High Jewelry Serpenti necklace. 

Anya Taylor-Joy dazzled in a strapless silver mermaid-inspired gown with her blonde hair center parted and straight and loose around her. Anya is wearing Dior Haute Couture with Tiffany & Co. jewels.

Carey dazzled in an archival Balenciaga gown – a recreation inspired from a 1951 design – paired with black gloves.

Greta Lee wore a halter-style black and white Loewe Fall 2024, complete with draped elements.

Billie Eilish looked beautiful in a Chanel Houndstooth look – consisting of a patterned skirt and purse, adding a white button up and black blazer. 

Matthew McConaughey looked dapper in a suit while his wife Camila Alves stunned in a black and silver number featuring futuristic accents along the sleeves. Matthew and Camila are both wearing custom Atelier Versace. 

 Vanessa Hudgens revealed her pregnancy on the Oscars red carpet on Sunday.

The 35-year-old star debuted her baby bump amid months of pregnancy speculation.

The star, who married professional baseball star Cole Tucker three months ago in Tulum, showcased her pregnant belly in a clingy black dress – a custom Vera Wang Haute Couture creation.

The stunning movie star showcased her bump in the high-neck black gown, while cradling her growing baby bump. 

She tied the knot with MLB player this past December, following three years of dating. 

Eva Longoria also opted for an elegant black dress – as well as Jamie Lee Curtis, Jessica Lange and Kate McKinnon.

Wicked star Cynthia Erivo donned an emerald Louis Vuitton frock, Brittany Snow chose a bold yellow look and Regina King chose an orange gown. 

The 96th Academy Awards was held on March 10 at 7 pm ET/4pm PT live on ABC, hosted for a fourth time by Jimmy Kimmel.

Oppenheimer won a whopping seven Oscars at Sunday night’s Academy Awards – while rival Barbie only won one.

Meanwhile Emma Stone led Poor Things to an impressive four including her Best Actress win and UK film The Zone Of Interest won two at the gala event held at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

The historical epic directed by Christopher Nolan swept the major categories with wins for Best Actor Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor Robert Downey Jr. and Nolan – with the film also winning Best Picture.

In contrast, Barbie, who memorably won against Oppenheimer in the ‘Barbenheimer’ box office showdown over the summer, walked away with just one award for Best Original Song for What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish and Finneas McConnell.

Downey Jr. jokingly thanked his ‘terrible childhood’ as he finally won an Oscar for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss, was delighted as he took to the stage – after host Jimmy Kimmel made a very awkward quip about his drug use.

The veteran actor – who has acted for over five decades – took home the Academy Award over stiff competition including Sterling K. Brown, American Fiction, Robert De Niro, Killers of the Flower Moon, Ryan Gosling, Barbie, and Mark Ruffalo, Poor Things.

Oppenheimer won seven awards in total – as well as Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, and Best Picture, it won Original Score for Ludwig Göransson – along with cinematography and achievement in film editing.

Al Pacino announced Oppenheimer as the Best Picture winner without bothering to name all the other nominees.

After the two films were released on the same day – July 21 – Barbenheimer gripped film fans who made an event out of going directly from the screening of one to the other.

Barbie was the highest-grossing movie of the year on both the domestic ($636.2 million) and worldwide ($1.445 billion) box office charts.

Oppenheimer took fifth place ($326.1 million) on the domestic box office charts and third place ($957.8 million) on the worldwide charts.

Meanwhile Emma, 35, powered through a wardrobe malfunction as she beat out an impressive field including favorite Lily Gladstone from Killers Of The Flower Moon in addition to Annette Bening, Nyad, Sandra Huller, Anatomy of a Fall, and Carey Mulligan, Maestro.

 As Emma was walking on stage she signaled that there was something wrong with her dress as she quickly acknowledged it during her emotional acceptance speech.

She said: ‘Oh, boy. My dress is broken. I think it happened during I’m Just Ken. I’m pretty sure. Oh, boy, this is really — this is really overwhelming. Sorry, I’m — okay, my voice is also a little gone. Whatever.’

Da’Vine Joy Randolph emotionally kicked off the Oscars as she broke into tears as she earned the coveted Actress in a Supporting Role for The Holdovers.

The talented 37-year-old actress beat out stiff competition including Emily Blunt, Oppenheimer, Danielle Brooks, The Color Purple, America Ferrera, Barbie, and Jodie Foster, Nyad.
