A practical joker spent five days covering his family’s home with more than 100 rolls of wrapping paper.

Maks Majewski, who is originally from Lebork, Poland, but now lives in Kingston upon Thames, London, spent £220 on 114 rolls of Christmas paper to prank his family.

The 20-year-old posted a video on social media documenting his lengthy prank, which saw him wrap red and silver paper over the kitchen cupboards and each part of the hob individually.

He then stretches the rollers over the walls and floors, making the living and dining room look like a giant Christmas present.

Maks’ attention to detail even extended to packing bananas in the fruit bowl, every kitchen knife and slat on the dining room chairs.

You can see his mum Anna covered in shock as she walks into the house after a few days away, but she and Maks’ sisters, Julia, 16, and Suzie, 10, then seem impressed by his festive DIY work.

Maks said he worked about 18 hours a day for five days so the house would be ready for his family to return home after visiting his grandparents.

The content creator said he was determined to pull off an elaborate prank despite being afraid his mother would yell at him.

He said it’s taken so long that he hasn’t had time to wrap his family’s presents yet and he has to buy more paper.

The videos have been viewed more than three million times, with users impressed by his wrapping skills and shocked by his dedication to the daring prank.

Anna said she was shocked to see her son’s crazy project and hopes she has enough time to get the house back in order before Christmas.

Maks said, “I was afraid my mom was going to yell at me. Who wouldn’t be?

“My mother just started speaking Polish when she saw it and she just said, wow. She could see how much effort it took.

“They thought it would be a stupid joke, but then they saw all the details and even complimented it and said it might be one of the best things they had ever seen.”

‘It actually looked fantastic. People say I should have taken a tour and paid admission to see it.

‘When I started I thought it would take a day or two, but then you realize how much work it is.

“Looking back on it, it was 100 percent worth it.

‘I don’t believe in giving up, but the back pain started to hit on the second day and it was tough.

“I wanted to pull off a large-scale prank that people would love and I’ve seen people do this in the past, but I wanted to go deeper into it.

‘The chair was the hardest because it took them an hour and a half each, so six hours in total, and I wrapped all the cutlery but it wasn’t in the video.

‘I haven’t even wrapped one of my presents yet, so that’s on the to do list.

‘Maybe I should go buy some Christmas paper, because the stock is almost gone. I might need some more.

‘It wasn’t really practical, but we had some hanging on the walls to give it a festive feel.’

Maks was busy packing the house between Friday, December 8 and Wednesday, December 13, when his family arrived home.

He says he tried to buy the paper in supermarkets but there wasn’t enough of the same design so he ordered £2 rolls online.

He says the red color of the paper turned his family’s socks the same color the more they walked on the covered floorboards.
