Instead of adding art or painting the space, the gym enthusiast decided to take a different approach: trying out the viral IKEA mirror hack that has taken the internet by storm.

The budget-friendly hack has become all the rage on social media, with several people creating the illusion of a larger space by simply gluing dozens of mirrors to their walls for a funky design.

After growing tired of her 'dull and boring' stairs, Holly decided to 'dazzle them' with two bargains from IKEA – their BLODLÖNN mirrorswhich sell for £5 for a pack of four, as well YLLEVAD frames in black (€ 1.50 per frame).

The total costs are, Holly estimated her videocame in at around ''£65 -£90'', making it the perfect cheap transformation.

Once the mini-groceries arrived, it was time to get started – and the process was relatively simple and straightforward.

Holly first made sure all the mirrors were placed in the picture frames and then started attaching them to the white wall, starting from the bottom and working her way up.

For her DIY project, the fitness superfan used 30 mirrors, but you can use more or fewer depending on your preferences and the size of the space you want to cover.

Holly was absolutely delighted with the results and said she was 'in love' – and insisted others wouldn't 'regret' trying it either.

''It completely changed the look of my landing! Obsessed,” Holly couldn't process the makeover.

It's not just the DIY enthusiast who was left open-mouthed by the bargain transformation – dozens of fellow interior design fans rushed to comment to praise her.

One of them felt so inspired by the glow of the wall that they couldn't wait to try out the hack too.

“Great, I'm going to do this in my hallway.”

Someone else chimed in: 'So creative! I love it!''

''What a brilliant idea! It really opens up the stairs,” wrote a third.

''Good job, looks really good,'' another person added.

However, not everyone was a fan of the makeover as some thought it was 'stupid'.

“Tacky, in my opinion,” said one troll.

To this, Holly – who certainly didn't care – hit back, writing: 'Thanks for your opinion, Doctor.'

Going to IKEA this week? There's another bargain people are raving about – and it's a must if you're a driver and can't get to the ticket machine in car parks.

One customer, Brittany Nash, from Melbourne, Australia, recently found a fun way to bypass the hassle of trying to reach through the window to get the ticket.

The answer? A pair of kitchen tongs, which you can pack for €2.50 at IKEA.

“Every time someone new comes into my car they always say, 'Brit, why do you have pliers in your car?'” she shared the game-changer of a hack online.

“Okay, a good question, but I have an even better answer.

She continued: “You know, when you get to those parking lot barriers and there's a ticket machine there, I can never get close enough to the ticket machine without my handy dandy little pliers.”

She said: “Whenever someone is behind me they always laugh at me. I look at them in the rearview mirror.

“But you know what? I'd rather be that fool with the pliers who's a little smart than that person who likes to untie the door and open it.

''How embarrassing! Okay, pliers for life.”
