New Delhi: Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel has been making headlines since making his debut in the Indian Test team for the fourth Test match played at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi. The 23-year-old debutant also won the match of the match after scoring 90 and 39* runs respectively in the recently concluded Test match against the Three Lions.

The wicketkeeper-batsman put together an unbeaten stand of 72 runs with Shubman Gill, which helped India seal the series on Monday. Jurel revealed that they had divided the goal into ten series and their partnership began to develop.

“I play according to the demands of the situation. The first innings we also had to score runs, we knew we had to bat last and so all runs would be crucial. I was involved in a number of partnerships, so credit goes to everyone who stayed and added runs. I just saw the ball and then reacted to it, without thinking too far ahead. The conversation was good (with Shubman Gill in the second innings), we just broke it down into sets of 10 runs and started developing the partnership,” Jurel said after India defeated England in the fourth Test match.
