Jada Pinkett Smith says she will be with Will Smith ‘forever’

Jada Pinkett Smith said she and Will Smith will always remain a couple, despite their divorce in 2016.

Pinkett Smith, 52, appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday, November 28, to promote her memoir, Worthyin which she wrote about her and Smith’s divorce.

“I feel like your shadow and his shadow are separated in some way in this book, whether they stay together forever or not,” Drew Barrymore her guest said. “It sounds like you guys will be together forever.”

“We’re going to be together forever,” Pinkett Smith confirmed, adding that she and Smith, 55, had “tried” to stay apart. “I think one of the next stages in relationships is that you really learn how to fully accept yourself, you also really learn how to fully accept your partner. That is a journey in itself.”

Pinkett Smith went on to say that her journey to self-realization has helped her appreciate her husband more – and also Chris Rockwho was infamously bashed by Smith at the 2022 Academy Awards for making a joke about Pinkett Smith.

“You learn how to accept everyone else, even when you’re dealing with their shadows,” Pinkett Smith explained. “You just learn how to embrace people’s light as well as their shadows. I love Will just the way he is. I have learned to love and embrace Chris for who he is. And myself too. And that’s the point. We are all here to find out.”

During a performance op CBS mornings earlier this month, the veteran actress said the Oscar incident brought her closer to her husband, whom she married in 1997.

“When I was there with him that night, I knew that maybe I didn’t walk in there as his wife, but I left that night as his wife,” she said.

A year after splitting from the former Fresh Prince, Pinkett Smith starred in the 2017 comedy Girls trip of Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish And Regina Hall. She played nurse Lisa Miller Cooper, who reunited with her college friends to attend the annual meeting Essence Music festival in New Orleans.

“We had a great time with that film. I would say we improved a lot on that movie, and Tiffany always stood out,” Pinkett Smith told 48-year-old Barrymore. “Tiffany would always think of something wild to do in the scene, and we would play off her.

The film grossed over $100 million and led to calls for a sequel.

When Barrymore asked about the possibility of the ladies getting together Girls trip 2Pinkett Smith said she hasn’t ruled it out. “I mean, look, they keep talking about it, so we’ll see,” she told the host. “It would be a wonderful thing to do.”
