Former Home and Away star and X Factor finalist Johnny Ruffo lost his battle with brain cancer on Friday at the age of 35.
And there was one person who stood by his side throughout his fight: his girlfriend Tahnee Sims.
The 29-year-old, who works in product development for fast fashion brand White Fox Boutique, was described by Ruffo as his ‘guardian angel’.
“I might not be here without her,” Johnny said Now to love last year.

The couple first met at a dance studio in 2015 and have been inseparable ever since.

Tahnee regularly attended appointments with Johnny and shared clips of the star undergoing treatment.
“She’s remarkable. “I can’t compliment her enough on how great she has been and how much I’ve been able to lean on her for support,” he told Perth radio station. Youth jam recently.

“So it’s something I don’t want to think about. It just makes me a little emotional because I know that at some point something will happen, whether it’s a month from now, ten years from now, or twenty years from now.”
Ruffo also told Bickmore that he had already outlived his life expectancy.
“At some point it will get to me, but I’m still fighting. Still pedaling. Looking at my diagnosis and my tumor, the average life expectancy was three years,” he said.
The singer explained in an excerpt from his new memoir, No Finish Line, that he hoped to start a family with Tahnee.

“There’s something about almost dying that puts things into perspective for you… Up until that point, the only real things that mattered in my life were, in no particular order, performing, recording music, acting, Tahnee, family and parties. with friends,” he wrote.
The singer died in a Sydney hospital on Friday morning, his spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

The heartbreaking news was announced on his Instagram page on Friday.
“It is with heavy hearts that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Johnny today,” the statement said.
“Surrounded by his partner Tahnee and family, Johnny passed away peacefully with the support of some incredible nurses and doctors.
‘He was a very talented, charming and sometimes cheeky boy. Johnny was very determined and strong-willed. He fought to the end and fought as hard as he could. Such a beautiful soul with so much more to give.
“We all love you Johnny and will remember you for all the joy you brought to our lives. Rest in peace.’

He was first diagnosed in 2017 and underwent life-saving surgery to successfully remove a seven centimeter tumor at the time.
Born in the Perth suburb of Balcatta, Ruffo’s show business career began when he successfully auditioned for the third season of The X Factor Australia in 2011.
A music career followed, with Ruffo releasing several hit singles, including On Top and Take It Home.
But he is perhaps best known for his role as fan favorite Chris Harrington on Home and Away between 2013 and 2016.
He also appeared in that show’s soap rival Neighbors in 2020.
