An envelope containing white powder was found Wednesday morning in the New York State Supreme Court in Lower Manhattan, officials said. The Courthouse, 60 Center Street, contains offices from Judge Arthur F. Engoron, the judge who oversaw the civil fraud trial of former President Donald J. Trump.

Police officers responded to a 911 call at 9:29 a.m. regarding the suspicious powder. A court officer had opened an envelope and white powder fell on his pants, police said. According to the New York Fire Department, the officer refused medical attention, as did another court officer exposed to the powder.

There were no injuries and the building was not evacuated. Police said firefighters responded to the discovery of the powder and the investigation was ongoing.

Judge Engoron ruled this month in Trump’s civil fraud trial that the former president was liable for conspiracy to manipulate his assets and ordered him to pay a fine of about $450 million.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
