Kate Chastain dismisses Sandra’s claim of ‘Traitors’ Smokers Alliance

Then her castmate Sandra Diaz Twine posted a video via X accusing Kate, Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid and eventual winners Chris “CT” Tamburello And Trishelle Cannatella Since they were using their smoke breaks to talk, Kate shot back.
Sandra, 49, theorized that the four smokers would use their breaks as an opportunity to exchange information, taking advantage of a rare moment when they could all be in the same room together.
“I say this to anyone who’s going to be in Season 3: If there’s a smoking clique, take out the assholes,” she said.
Kate, 41, quoted the video and wrote: “First of all, I mostly vape 💁♀️Second, the smokers always had a producer guiding them and turning their mics on so production could make sure they weren’t talking game.”

In a response, Kate also added that there were no hard feelings. “I absolutely love Sandra,” she said. “I’m just saying that the people who smoked had no benefit.”

European cherry/peacockKate should know it too, as the only cast member of The traitors of the US to have played the game twice now. She finished in fifth place in season 1 and entered the competition in the second season as a twist in episode five.
Reality game shows often have safeguards in place that look exactly like what Kate described, in the hopes of ensuring that all relevant game conversations happen at moments that can eventually be broadcast on the show. It’s why Survivorcastaways can’t talk for the first time when they meet in Ponderosa in the preseason, or why op Big Brother houseguests cannot talk unless they wear their microphones.
However, Sandra believes the eliminations on the show support her. When Phaedra parks went home, Sheree Whitfield and Sandra soon followed, while Kate ‘protected her smokers’. The four smokers then became the final four of the show.
