Princess Kate came in an elegant white dress while attending the Order of the Garter alongside Sophia, Duchess of Edinburgh.
The royals stood side-by-side at Monday, June 19’s event, which took place in London. The 41-year-old Princess of Wales looked radiant in her high-necked, long-sleeved dress with white polka dots and a matching cream Starhberry Multrees Chain Wallet. She topped off her ensemble with a black hat decorated with white feathers and polka dot ribbons.
Sophie, 58, opted for a lighter outfit, wearing a pink floral dress and a pink scarf. She completed her look with a pink hat and carried a diamond colored Strathberry Box Crescent handbag.
Kate and Sophie were later joined by their respective husbands, prince william And prince Edward, who were part of the Order of the Garter procession outside Windsor Castle. The group then attended the annual service alongside King Charles III And Queen Camilla.
The Order of the Garter, which is the oldest and highest order of knighthood in the UK, takes place every June after Trooping the Color. The ceremony was established by King Edward III in 1348. This year featured Charles, 74, the Prince of Wales, 40, the Royal Family, and 24 special members known as Royal Knights and Ladies and Foreign Sovereigns.
Kate’s polka dot dress is just one of many eye-catching outfits this summer. The princess – who shares Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, with William – stole the show on Saturday, June 17 for Charles’ first Trooping the Color ceremony since he ascended the throne in September 2022. ( The Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son became the monarch upon her death at the age of 96. He was officially crowned at his coronation in May.)
Kate arrived by carriage for Saturday’s festivities with her three children and mother-in-law Camilla, 75. The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a bold green dress and matching fascinator. Kate stood out in the crowd because most of her relatives wore the country’s traditional clothing, consisting of red fabrics and blue accents.
While Kate has become a fashion icon over the years, royal expert Beth Holt told exclusively Us weekly in September 2022 that “many of the things” fans see her do in terms of style are tricks “she has learned from the [late] queen.”
“A big part of Kate’s love for skirts came from the Queen,” Holt said Us at the time, pointing out that Elizabeth was “famously known” for not being “enthusiastic about women wearing pants.”
