As for how the ladies can be proactive about taking their intimacy and romance to the next level, Cattrall thinks most women are “too nervous, too anxious, or haven’t done their homework to figure out what feels right.”

And by doing the “good work” with her past relationships, and the experience that comes with them, Cattrall claims she was able to share a “meaningful” romance with Thomas.

‘It’s hard work. It is not easy. People feel it’s something that happens, and you’re in luck. Happiness is where preparation meets opportunity,” she shared of her relationship philosophy.

“And you meet this person and the work has just begun, but it’s not a negative kind of work. This is good work. This makes sense for your life. So to me, I’m less romantic or sensual about it. I feel like it’s going to keep working and pushing and progressing and asking and revealing for as long as you live,” Cattrall said.

The Golden Globe winner, who first met Thomas in 2016 while working at the BBC, said they liked each other from the start and eventually kept in touch, which led to them meeting in Vancouver.

“It was very brave of him because we didn’t really know each other except for a few meals together,” she shared with People in 2020.

“But he came and we got along great, and we’ve been together ever since.”
