Kit Harington and Rose Leslie welcome their second child

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have welcomed their second child into the world.

The former Game of Thrones co-stars – who wed in June 2018 – are “over the moon” after the 36-year-old actress recently gave birth to a baby girl, a sibling to their two-year-old son.

As with their baby boy, the couple have not made public their daughter’s name or other details surrounding her birth.

Kit’s spokesperson simply told PageSix.com, “They are delighted to welcome a little girl into the family.”

The Eternals actor admitted in March that he and Rose had been “more hands-on” with her second pregnancy, while taking a more “romantic” view of parenting when they were expecting their son.

He told Entertainment Tonight, “We’re very practical about it at the moment. And actually almost too practical.

“With our first kid there was like, kind of romantic, for a better word, and this other one we’re like, ‘Okay, let’s go.’ We know how efficient we have to be. Let’s go to parenting.

“My mom says she never remembers when we were little kids or when we grew up early because you’re so present in it. And I think that’s what kids let you be, being incredibly present in the moment, because you don’t have a choice.”

Kit announced that he and Rose were expecting their second child together during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February.

The couple have not confirmed the name of their first son or his date of birth. Rose was seen visibly pregnant in September 2020 and their son was first seen in February 2021.

Speaking of his firstborn, Kit said, “He’s about to get the shock of his life, which is that he’s about to have a sibling.”

He continued, “You know, with the first baby, you walk on clouds for nine months and dance through fields and daisies? Well, the man is anyway.

“This time the reality check is much shorter and you get practical very quickly.”

Kit then said that he and Rose have been trying to explain to their toddler that he is going to have a sibling, but that he “don’t quite get it conceptually yet.”

He said, “We’re trying to get him ready and we point to Rose’s belly and we say, ‘Mama’s baby, Mama’s baby,’ and he points to his belly and says, ‘My baby, my baby.'”

Kit previously called being a parent “the most physically exhausting thing” he’s ever done.

Speaking to The Weekend Australian, he said: ‘Like, honestly, my back is broken. I go to the gym quite often, but there’s something about having a kid that’s the most physically exhausting,” he said.

The actor praised single parents saying, “I don’t know how you do it. Because it’s more exhausting than anything I did on Thrones.”

Elsewhere, the actor is “happy” and “satisfied” with his life since becoming a father.

“I have a kid and my relationship is great… I’m a very, very happy, content, down to earth man,” he said, referring to his previous battle with alcohol addiction.

Kit and Rose met while filming their hit HBO show Game of Thrones and started dating in 2011.

They announced their engagement in The Times newspaper in September 2017 and were married the following June in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
