Do you want late snow? Then aim high! Warm winters mean melting slopes, but these snow-sure resorts are perfect for spring
Photos of barren slopes at lower altitude ski resorts have many worried lately about the remainder of the Alpine ski season.
In the village of the popular seaside resort of Megève in France – at 1,110 meters (3,640 feet) – no snow was visible on webcams.
It’s a tough situation for the lower resorts, with temperatures reaching 16 degrees Celsius in Megève, although a weather front will bring new snow this week, according to Weathertoski.co.uk.
With the snow melting at the lower resorts, it has never been more important to get some late season skiing
That said, the most snow is expected above 1,500 meters (4,920 feet).
So where you go for late season skiing has never been more important. Here we round up some of the very highest (and most ‘snow-sure’) resorts.

Val Thorens is the highest ski village in France, with reliable snow cover and slopes linked to the Three Valleys ski area. Expect extensive skiing until the resort closes on May 5. The slopes reach a height of 3,230 meters (10,600 feet).
