The director of Leonardo DiCaprio's Blood Diamond has made claims about the star's infamous penchant for younger models.

Filmmaker Edward Zwick recalled a hilarious moment when he saw the actor, 49, “flipping through a Victoria's Secret catalogue” on the set of the 2006 film.

In his new book Hits, Flops, and Other Illusions: My Fortysomething Years in Hollywood, Edward wrote about this moment.

Leonardo starred in Blood Diamond with Jennifer Connelly and Djimon Hounsou and in the book Edward said there was “only one instance of even the mildest misconduct” between them, adding: “It's more a testament to their camaraderie than anything else '.

He wrote: 'Looks like Leo was currently surrounded by beautiful girlfriends. One morning, as I often do, I walked into the makeup trailer to discuss the day's work with him.

'What are you doing?' I have asked. Connelly sat in the chair next to him. Without even looking back she said, 'Shopping.'

Leonardo is known for dating younger, beautiful women who he tends to break up with once they turn 25.

Many of them have been models for the lingerie brand, including Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen, Erin Heatherton, Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli.

His latest partner is Vittoria Ceretti, 25, who he was first linked to last year.

The Killers of the Flower Moon star's love interest has become a sought-after face for advertising, having fronted campaigns for the likes of Chanel, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Moschino.

She has also walked the catwalk with big names like Kendall Jenner, Claudia Schiffer, Iris Law and Imaan Hammam.

The married couple took the sights and sounds of Art Basel in Miami in December.

The Oscar winner was spotted at the annual festival – where he previously spent $1 million on artwork – enjoying a drink next to the stunning model.

Dressed in a dark shirt, matching trousers and his usual baseball cap, Leonardo kept a calm figure as he made his way through the star-studded crowd.

Vittoria followed suit in a black ensemble, while the Italian beauty looked like she just stepped off the catwalk.

In November, Leo celebrated his 49th birthday with Vittoria, who joined him and other A-list guests at the star-studded party.

The pair packed on the PDA and were “clingy and kissing all night,” according to People.

Leo was the life and soul of the party as he rapped and danced for a star-studded crowd, who gathered at a private home in the exclusive neighborhood.

Around that time, it was reported that Leo was 'crazy' about Vittoria, who was also very concerned about environmental issues.

The stunning brunette turns 26 in June and insiders claim he is now dating her exclusively because she has 'all the qualities he looks for in a partner'.
