Lindsay Hubbard texted Scheana Shay about an outing with Carl Radke’s mother

Scheana Shay heard of Lindsay Hubbard while she was hanging out with him Carl Radke‘s mother in Mexico about what it might have been Summer house wedding weekend of the stars.

“I think it was the second day I was there and I [got] a text from Lindsay and I think I made a comment when we were at the pool one day and I was hanging out with Carl’s mom, ‘the Vanderpump Rules38, said on the Friday, December 1 episode of her “Scheananiganspodcast. “Sharon and I have been friends for years. We did Watch what’s happening live together years ago [she] and my mother were the bartenders and I always maintained a relationship with her.

Shay explained that after Hubbard, 37, and Radke, 38, called off their wedding earlier this year, she “checked in” with his mother. She also noted that she couldn’t imagine “how hard” it was for Sharon to see her son’s breakup making headlines and how Sharon really “needed” a vacation.

While Shay was excited to spend time with Sharon and her friends, who also decided to take a trip to the wedding destination (Kyle CookeShay’s husband Brock Davies And Gabby Prescod also went to the resort), she felt for Hubbard and how difficult it must have been for her. When the group started sharing photos and videos from Mexico, Hubbard contacted Shay.

“So she texted me and said she had heard from five different people [that I was being negative about her in Mexico]” said Shay. “And I think it’s impossible for it to be five people because I made one comment and it was a joke.”

Shay didn’t reveal what exactly had to do with Hubbard, but thought it had something to do with her fear that the two women would have to perform ‘Squash That Beef’ again at BravoCon in 2024. Just imagine next year’s fans: ‘Are we really going to have beef because I’m here in Mexico with Carl’s mom?’” she said. (Shay and Hubbard were called by Andy Cohen at BravoCon 2023 about comments Shay made about Hubbard calling photographers after a group dinner in New York.)

Shay reiterated that her comment was a “total joke,” but whoever heard her apparently took it “in a different way.” She texted Hubbard to explain that she didn’t mean to come across as “letting her down” or “being really negative.” Shay claimed that after Hubbard provided context, she did not “respond.”

We weekly confirmed in August that Radke had called off his engagement to Hubbard, with cameras picking up again to document the breakup. Days later, Radke sent a message to the couple’s wedding guests.

“Words cannot possibly express how difficult the past two weeks have been for Lindsay and me,” he wrote in a letter to those in attendance. “We are extremely sorry to all our guests for the confusion and lack of communication. We tried to figure out exactly how this all happened before we could even have a chance to mutually determine the path forward.

In his message, Radke encouraged everyone to still make the most of the trip, as most had already booked non-refundable plane tickets and hotel rooms.

While Radke dealt with the logistics of calling off the wedding, Hubbard has been working on healing from her blinding breakup. Although she didn’t go to Mexico, she did tease that Us about what she planned to do instead.

“I’m going to start writing my book,” she said exclusively Us in November. “It will be a mix of career, dating and family [anecdotes]. I have a lot of stories to tell.”
