Liverpool star Andy Robertson has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to football, charity and youth.

Pictured, the Scottish captain was photographed receiving his royal honors from Prince William at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

Robertson received the MBE from the Prince of Wales before laughing with each other.

The 29-year-old has enjoyed incredible success since joining The Reds for £8 million in 2017.

He made 243 appearances for the side and won numerous major trophies, including the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League a year later.

Robertson has enjoyed immense success since joining Liverpool from Hull in 2017 and is now recognized as one of the best left-backs in the world.

Although the most recent campaign was not a success for Liverpool, Robertson did break the record for the most assists defender in Premier League history.

Off the field, Robertson launched the charity AR26 in November 2020, which aims to provide young people in Scotland with equal access to training, support, employment opportunities and free football coaching.

Earlier this year, his now former teammate James Milner was awarded his own MBE for services to football and charity.

The 37-year-old’s eight-year spell at Anfield came to an end this summer after his contract expired, when the former England international moved to Brighton.

Jordan Henderson received an MBE in 2021, while former Liverpool players to have received the award include Ian Rush (1996), Gary McAllister (2002) and Steven Gerrard (2007).
