Sydney Sweeney wears Angelina Jolie’s 2004 Oscars dress at the event twenty years later

It wasn’t just Marilyn Monroe who emulated Sydney Sweeney at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Hollywood on Sunday, but also Angelina Jolie.

In a touching nod to Angelina’s style prowess, the 26-year-old Euphoria star replicated her 76th annual Academy Awards look from 2004.

The cream-colored dress by Old Hollywood Marc Bouwer cemented Angelina’s status as a fashion icon in the early 2000s.

Some twenty years later, Sydney followed in Angelina’s footsteps and modeled the glamorous plunging halter neckline last night at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.

Sydney recreated the bombshell look with the dress, matching scarf and accessories with a similar collection of layered pendant necklaces.

With the help of hair and makeup, Sydney managed to add her own touch to the archival look.

The White Lotus alum previously rocked her usual long, blonde locks when she recently hosted Saturday Night Live.

For the annual Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Sydney changed it up, showing off a darker honey blonde color and her shoulder-length bob styled in bouncy waves.

The style was a departure from Angelina’s 2004 red carpet look, which saw the then 29-year-old’s long locks flow loose.

With the incredible look, Sydney joined the ranks of Angelina, 48, and the many A-list bombshells known for their red carpet outfits, gracing many best-dressed lists.

Last night’s Oscars were filled with dazzling performances, controversial comments, a shocking pregnancy announcement, a naked onstage appearance, an awkward wardrobe malfunction — and a feud between host Jimmy Kimmel and former President Donald Trump.

It started with a lame monologue from the presenter in which he made a very crude joke about Robert Downey Jr.’s masculinity, which did not sit well with the actor.

But when Donald subsequently posted a scathing tweet about Jimmy, labeling him the “worst host” in Oscars history, the comedian decided to blow him off on national television, asking him, “Isn’t your prison sentence over ?’

During the three-hour, star-studded event, Ryan Gosling delivered a hilarious rendition of his hit song I’m Just Ken from Barbie, leaving many celebrity attendees in the audience in stitches and Emma Stone accidentally ripping her dress.

There were certainly some viral and shocking moments: the dog that appeared in Anatomy of a Fall became an internet sensation after being spotted cute in the audience, and John Cena came on stage naked, using the envelope with the lyrics on it. winner managed to cover his genitals.

The event witnessed one of Sydney’s many glamorous looks of late and last week she glowed effortlessly in a bright pink dress from ALAÏA as she channeled her inner Barbie at an event for flavored water brand Bai.

While serving as the exclusive brand ambassador for the popular beverage company, the Euphoria actress oozed glamor as she promoted her and Bai’s latest raspberry-lemon-lime drink collaboration at an intimate gathering in New York City.

She paired her twisted fit-and-flare midi dress with a pair of $595 (£463) red Maison Ernest pumps and black Alexander McQueen sunglasses, which retail for $485 (£377).

Her platinum blonde locks were styled in loose waves that flowed down her back and shoulders.

For makeup, she highlighted her natural beauty with a pink matte lipstick over her plump pout and blush for a fresh, rosy glow as she prepared to mingle with fans.

Once inside her event for Bai, Sweeney talked about the inspiration for her flavor choices, which she said “came from” her “love of picking berries” growing up.

During an interview with Forbesthe bombshell raved about how the drink reminded her of her childhood.

“I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and my mom would take me and my little brother berry picking,” the two-time Emmy nominee said. “And there were waterfalls where you could take garbage bags, and you could drive by the waterfalls and then pick berries on the sides.

She continued, “And when we were thinking about the inspiration behind what I wanted to bring to life and what flavor I thought would be so cool, I thought, ‘I would bring a piece of my childhood into this drink,’ and I love raspberries. I felt like it just brought that memory to life.”

Sweeney also explained how she incorporated Bai products into her fitness routine.

‘Well, I’m super, super active. I try to run and exercise and stay as active as possible,” she told the outlet. “And Bai has new and improved benefits this year. It contains electrolytes, which is very nice because I train a lot.

“And then it’s also infused with antioxidants, which is really nice, especially because I travel all the time and I’m always on the go. And so it’s really good to have those extra little bits to keep me healthy,” the Madame Web star shared.

Sweeney previously revealed that she has “never tried coffee” and only drinks water.

‘I decided I would only drink water and I stuck to that. I love water, it’s my thing,” she told Bustle. “I eat sugar, so that works out well… instead of coffee, I have some Swedish fish or something sticky when I’m tired.”

Although she has said that she is not “strictly sober,” the artist noted that alcohol is simply not “something that turns her on” and truly identifies as “a water person.”
