Lupita Nyong’o is a stunning beauty in a green ensemble at the Metropolitan Opera in New York… weeks after splitting from Selema Masekela and THAT hangout with newly single Joshua Jackson

Lupita Nyong’o turned heads in a striking green ensemble as she attended the opening night of X: The Life And Times Of Malcolm X at the Metropolitan Opera in New York on Friday.

The Black Panther actress, 40 – who has been adjusting to her ‘new reality’ following her split from boyfriend Selema Masekela last month – visited the opera just weeks after spending time with newly single Joshua Jackson.

The beauty stunned in a vibrant green blouse with a V-neck front and cap sleeves with the fabric falling to the floor behind her back.

A gold and green patterned belt, made of soft fabric, was also wrapped around her midriff to further accentuate her waist.

She put on a pair of matching loose-fitting pants and also put on a pair of gold open-toed shoes, which were partially hidden by the hem of the pants.

The American star completed her look for the evening by adding a pair of statement gold and green dangling earrings, as well as a ring on her right hand.

Her makeup was glamorous for the night and consisted of a blue shadow around her eyes and a glossy, reddish colored shade on her lips for a finishing touch.

Lupita struck some of her favorite poses as she arrived at the venue ahead of the opera, which officially kicked off on Friday and will end later next month on December 2.

Her outing comes shortly after the actress announced her divorce from Selema Masekela by sharing a lengthy post on Instagram last month on October 19. The couple made their relationship official on social media late last year, in December 2022.

However, she had said: ‘There are much more important things going on in the world right now, and my thoughts are with those who are suffering deeply.’

“At this time, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly distance myself from someone I can no longer trust…,” Nyong’o continued to her fans and followers.

She wrote: ‘I am in a season of heartbreak over a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.’ The star later opened up about the “pain” she felt during the breakup.

“But I am reminded that the extent of the pain I feel is equal to the extent of my capacity for love. And so I choose to face the pain, cultivate the courage to see my life exactly as it is, and trust that this too shall pass.”

The star concluded that she “hoped that the knowledge of my experience might be helpful to someone else who is experiencing the grip of a broken heart and who is about to try to escape the pain and miss out on the wisdom that comes from it.” ‘

Earlier this week on Thursday, Nyong’o revealed that she had turned to her good friend, Palmer Hefferan, as she heals from the breakup and faces her “new reality.”

Lupita wrote a lengthy caption paying tribute to her friend, and also included an assortment of photos of the two together.

‘Palmer is the kind of friend I can count on through thick and thin. We don’t have to talk every day, but when we do, we pick up where we left off, as if no time has passed at all,” the beauty wrote.

She reflected on their past together, including how they had been “roommates at drama school” and “found a kindred spirit in each other….”

The Oscar winner added, “Recently, when my life was turned upside down by heartbreak, Palmer quickly came to my side to be by my side and help me through the hardest days as I adjusted to my new reality .’

The actress added that “the greatest gift she gave to my life was giving me my first pet, Yoyo. Every time I look at him and cuddle with him, I am reminded of the selfless love my sister and another gentleman showed me.”

“I’ll never be able to repay her for the kindness she showed me, and the beauty of friendship is that it’s never about settling the score!”

A day before Nyong’o announced her split, she was spotted cozying up to new single Joshua Jackson while at a Janelle Monae concert in Los Angeles last month.

The Fringe actor also recently split from his wife Jodie Turner-Smith, after filing for divorce earlier in October.

The former couple tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their first and only child together named Juno Rose Diana Jackson in April 2020. The Queen & Slim actress requested joint custody of the little one, per TMZ.

The British-born star cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the couple’s separation in the divorce filing, and also listed their separation date as September 13.

However, the two were most notably seen at the COS Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show during New York Fashion Week and were all smiles just a day earlier on September 12.
