Sold out €35 M&S cardigan becomes a TikTok sensation as fans call it ‘very Chanel’

An M&S cardigan that sent TikTok into meltdown after it was compared to Chanel is now back in stock after fashion fans went wild for the item – but it’s already flying off the shelves.

The recycled cardigan with textured buttons at the front is available in two colours, navy blue and cream, ranging from size XS to XL – and despite the £35 price tag, customers say it looks much more expensive.

However, the item is selling quickly: the XS is currently not available in both colors, while the cream version is also sold out in S and M.

The cozy waffle knit design is a hit with fans on social media thanks to its premium quality and affordable price tag. Many even call it a ‘must-have’ for fall.

TikTok fashionista Molly Paris, who goes by the handle @mollyparisstyle, first shared a glimpse of the cardigan in August, claiming it was essential for the upcoming season.

This prompted a large number of followers to leave complimentary comments, such as ‘I just got the black one. It’s beautiful’ and ‘Literally just ordered! Thanks for sharing!’.

Unsurprisingly, the cardigan has been a hit with shoppers since causing a stir on TikTok – but after being withdrawn from stores it is now back on sale.

The product description on the M&S website reads: ‘A textured knit and gold-coloured buttons give this cardigan an elegant look. It is designed in a comfortable regular fit with a timeless round neckline. Contrasting ribbed cuffs and patch pocket details complete the look.’

TikTok user Katie Peake, who goes by the handle @_katiepeake, also raved about the knit.

In the video she claims these cardigans look much more expensive than they are – and even says the cream version is ‘very Chanel’.

One viewer replied: ‘I have both too, love them!’ while another added: ‘The cream one looks luxurious.’

One fashion fan was desperate to know how Katie got the cardigans as they had sold out.

‘I have been looking for a jacket in this style for a while, but I think I am small. This little cardigan is the perfect alternative and feels wonderfully soft. I usually wear a size 6 or 8 and the XS fits well,” read one.
