Pogba goes for Broke?

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could be in line for a shock return to football despite serving a four-year ban, according to reports.

The 30-year-old Juventus star tested positive for the banned substance DHEA in August and has not played since being handed a provisional ban a month later.

Pogba has been handed a lengthy ban and, as things stand, cannot play again until 2027, although he denies all wrongdoing and plans to appeal.

By the time he gets back on the field, he will be 35.

But Pogba has been given a surprising route back to football from a star-studded Russian league. A team called Broke Boys is interested in signing him.

They play in the Russian Media Football League, a division consisting of teams with celebrities such as actors and influencers.

Broke Boys chief Artjom Chatjaturjan is serious about his interest in Pogba and has made him a contract offer.

He told Tuttosport: “It may seem like a joke, we called him. But so far he has politely declined.

“He is in a desperate situation and needs time to accept it. Pogba is one of the best footballers in the world and will not be able to play for that long.”

Diallo removes all Man Utd references

Amad Diallo has removed all references to Manchester United on his social media accounts.

The winger also posted a cryptic four-word biography on X after changing his profile picture and cover photo.

Diallo has made just three first-team appearances this season after returning from a knee injury in December.

There is only one message left since his return to United last summer: a dressing room video featuring Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo from Saturday.

In the meantime, he has deleted all but three posts from his Instagram feed.

The three remaining photos are all from his time with the Black Cats last season.

This includes one of him kissing the Sunderland badge and another celebrating a goal at the Stadium of Light.

Why Southgate could be a good fit for the Red Devils

Gareth Southgate for Manchester United, so why not?

The prospect – which first appeared in this column a month ago – is an increasingly realistic possibility.

Two of Southgate’s key allies, Dan Ashworth and Dougie Freedman, have been appointed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe as United’s sporting director and head of recruitment.

Above all, United need unity in the squad. They need a cohesive culture in which there is a chaotic circus – the essence of the job Southgate has carried out during his seven-and-a-half years as England manager.

Ratcliffe also says he wants United’s squad to have an English core.

There are an unusually high number of very good English footballers at the moment and no future United manager would be more likely to attract them than Southgate, who has the absolute confidence of England’s top players.

Many United supporters have ridiculed the mention of Southgate for United.

Some of this is due to delusions of historical grandeur.

Luca Netz transfer war

Arsenal want to beat Manchester United with the signature of Borussia Mönchengladbach star Luca Netz.

According to HITCthe Gunners are keeping an eye on Netz ahead of the summer transfer window.

The North Londoners have even sent scouts to watch the left-back in action.

However, United are also interested in the 20-year-old and have also sent their own representatives.

The Germany Under-21 international has registered a total of 25 appearances this season.

Neville on Arsenal’s title chances

Manchester United legend Gary Neville is not confident Arsenal can get a result against Manchester City at the Etihad on March 31.

And that could seriously damage the Gunners’ Premier League title hopes.

Arsenal could do that, but at the Etihad. So you think: are they going to keep them on the ropes like Liverpool did in the second half?

I think Arsenal can do well at the Etihad, no matter how difficult it will be, because Arsenal are playing very well.

You think about how anxious, nervous and tense City was. It’s great to see City like this because they are a team with the ultimate composure, who you see being meticulous and melodic in everything they do every season.

And suddenly you see them here, and it’s like they’re spinning around in a roundabout for five minutes and they come off and they don’t quite know where they are.

Transfer advice for Man Utd

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has urged his former club to make a move for Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins, insisting he has the quality to play for a ‘top team’.

He [Watkins] He could play for one of the top teams, right?

Villa are a top team, but you are talking about bigger clubs in Man United, Liverpool, Man City.

That’s a compliment to him, not that he should leave Villa. But he is capable of that.

The kid is so sharp, he has great form. His movement is as good as any striker in the Premier League, he is having a great season.
