A delighted Rue appeared on Channel 10’s The Project last week to talk about the new sauce.

She admitted she’d never tried BBQ sauce before arriving in Australia nine years ago, and she gave a sneak peek at what fans can expect from her spicy concoction.

“It’s mild for me,” Rue laughed, after Georgie Tunny, host of The Project, said the label on the BarbeRue bottle had a chili rating of three — meaning it was extra spicy.

“I love chili, but I sweat a little,” added Steve Price of The Project, who tried out the sauce.

Later, Rue advised that “if you eat it straight from the jar, it gets very spicy.”
