Nicole Kidman is leading the new property trend as Sydney’s celebrities and CEOs try to downsize

Nicole Kidman is at the forefront of a new trend in Sydney real estate.

Many members of the port city’s elite, including celebrities and CEOs, spend big money on smaller homes.

In May, it was reported that the 56-year-old Hollywood superstar bought her sixth apartment in the flashy Landmark Latitude complex in Milsons Point, on the North Shore.

The Big Little Lies star paid a whopping $7.7 million for the chic triple bedroom, which boasts impressive views of Sydney Harbour.

Kidman and husband Keith Urban, who own properties under different company names, brought their total in the building to $27.5 million with the purchase.

Called ‘Reverie’ and built by Helm, the block, built overlooking Allan Border Oval, will contain 20 luxury units when completed in 2025.

The penthouse on top of the complex, meanwhile, fetched $15 million, marking a record sales price in the suburb, The Mosman Daily reported on Monday.

Buyers spent up to $10.5 million for a three-bedroom apartment in the block, while two-bedroom flats went under the hammer for a reported $4 million.

Features include wooden floors and marble sofas, while select apartments include a bar.

The penthouse features a wine cellar, walk-in closets and a gourmet kitchen.

Ex-Qantas boss Alan Joyce and husband Shane Lloyd, meanwhile, scored the highest sale price in the area.

The couple, who never actually lived in their Mosman Federation-era mansion, sold the sprawling home for a sum of € it was rumored to be $21 million.

Bought last year for $19 million, the glorious sandstone stack boasts a pool, harbor views and four bedrooms.

Another North Shore record was broken this year, The Mosman Daily reports, when George Michael’s beach holiday raised $13.5 million.

Moriarty, 56, who has sold more than 20 million books, bought the sprawling home with her husband Adam Gatenby in June after it was originally listed on the market with a list price of $19 million according to Domain.

The ultra-modern waterfront home has three floors, five bedrooms and five bathrooms and offers spectacular views of Sydney Harbour.

Located in one of Sydney’s most sought-after areas, the home, designed by prestigious architect Susan Rothwell, overlooks Balmoral Beach.

Highlights include an internal lift and majestic curved staircase, limestone floors and bespoke joinery.
