Bihar News: In a bizarre yet humorous incident, four accused men had to push a police van in Bihar's Bhagalpur district after the vehicle reportedly ran out of fuel. The prisoners were taken to court by police when the vehicle ran out of fuel, reports said.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms, drawing jokes and funny comments from netizens.

In the video, the four suspects, with ropes tied around their waists, are seen pushing a Bihar Police SUV as an officer guides them.

According to reports, the incident took place in Bhagalpur district of the state on Sunday when the four men, who were arrested on charges of consuming liquor (Bihar is a dry state where consumption of alcohol is a punishable offence), were escorted by police . police must be brought before a local court.

However, when the police vehicle ran out of fuel and came to a halt near Kachahari Chowk, the four inmates were ordered by the police officers to push the van to the side of the road, they said.

The incident was caught on camera by some bystanders and the clip went viral on social media platforms.

According to reports, the suspects pushed the police vehicle for almost half a kilometer.

Meanwhile, taking note of the embarrassing incident, a senior police official said an internal investigation into the incident has been initiated and appropriate action will be taken against erring officers.

“We have received information about the incident and a departmental inquiry will be initiated into the matter,” said Deputy Commissioner of Prohibition Pramodit Narayan Singh.

ACP Singh said strict action will be taken against any officer found guilty, adding that further investigation is still on.
