This is a cosmetic procedure in which the nose is reconstructed and adjusted. The costs can range from €2,000 to €7,000, depending on where you have the operation performed.

Mia and her mother have decided to have their noses corrected and develop a strong aversion to their nose.

Mia wanted her nose to be straighter, with a pinched top, so she decided to have her nose done in Turkey, while her mother had surgery on her nose at the same time.

The pair, who flew from Minnesota to Istanbul, Turkey, have since provided updates on their recovery.

Mia struggled through the post-operative process as she found the results 'super dramatic'.

She explained how her nose was broken and replaced, and that the pinch point at the top of her nose will soften and diminish over time.

Mia too filmed a video of herself with her mother after their bandages were removed and shared it on her TikTok page which has over 248.4k followers.

They wanted to reveal “the things they don't tell you about getting a rhinoplasty and the things you can't do after getting a rhinoplasty.”

Sunglasses

aAccording to their surgeon, the only rule was that they were not allowed to wear sunglasses.

I went to Turkey and had five operations in one go – I'm so swollen I look like a gerbil and a complication has destroyed half my face

Experts at Harley Clinic warn that wearing glasses too soon after your rhinoplasty can permanently damage your nose and damage its structure.

In general, this can range from a minimum of two months to six months.

The website states: “You can wear glasses over your splint as the hard splint ensures that the glasses do not affect the results of your rhinoplasty by taking the weight off the glasses.

“But once the splint comes off, you can't wear glasses anymore because there's nothing to hold the weight off your nose.

“If your nose starts to heal, it may look fine in a few weeks, but that doesn't mean it's ready to support glasses.”

Tanning

Mia's surgeon also told them not to sunbathe or expose themselves to the sun for two months.

Experts say it's important for the skin on your nose to heal and it will be especially sensitive to the harmful effects of the sun's rays.

Excercise

Exercise during the first week after facial plastic surgery can cause irritation and pain in your nose and face.

It is recommended to rest for two days, and for the remaining six to twelve weeks you should not strain yourself.

Mia said: “We haven't been to the gym.

“Literally we were rotting our entire stay in Turkey, and now we have to rot even more at home.”

Sauna

To prevent edema – swelling due to too much trapped fluid – experts say it is necessary to take a month-long break from the sauna, Turkish bath, solarium, sunbath, steam bath, sea and water. swimming pool.

But Mia couldn't resist and went to the sauna.

As your nose begins to heal, it may look fine in a few weeks, but that doesn't mean it's ready to wear glasses

She said: “I went to the sauna today. I do not mind.

'They said we couldn't go to the sauna for about four weeks. But I had to. I had to because I needed it mentally. They also said we can't say you can't go in a hot tub for weeks.”

Mia and her mother were also told that they would not see results right away.

Mia said: “You won't see any results in a year, so your nose is going to change a lot.

“But they don't tell you that one day you hate your nose and then you love it, and the next day you hate it and then you love and love it.

“That's what the rib cartilage does to you, because it needs time to move into your body.

“So a lot is changing. So it is [rib cartilage] is currently floating in our noses.

“It takes time for the rib to actually attach to your bone, and then it looks a lot more natural and fits our face better.”

What are the dangers of going to Turkey for cosmetic treatments?

Dr. Omar Tillo, plastic surgeon and medical director at CREO Clinic, says Brits should consider these important comments.

  • It is important to have realistic expectations about what the procedure can and cannot achieve
  • Patients may need to wait a period of time after surgery to allow healing and ensure tissues are fully stabilized
  • Many medical tourists will forget the return journey and the complications that can accompany long-haul travel after recent surgery and flying in the same week after cosmetic surgery can significantly increase the risk of blood clots.
  • Patients should carefully discuss the potential risks and complications of the procedure with their plastic surgeon and weigh these against the potential benefits
  • Patients should carefully consider the financial implications of the procedure
  • Unfortunately, the cosmetic surgery tourism industry is not above massaging the truth to lure patients to medical tourism hotspots including Turkey, Poland or Thailand – what appears to be a premium facility may be merely an illusion created by extensive and aggressive marketing
  • Even if a surgeon is highly skilled, a patient may find that his/her expectations for results are still difficult to convey if he or she is in a different country or time zone than the surgeon, without even considering to deal with a language barrier.

The pain also starts to become more bearable for Mia and her mother.

She said, 'It doesn't affect us if we get up and stuff.

“But I noticed that my smile is better today. I can smile. I mean, you can see my teeth now.

“In the beginning you couldn't see our front teeth.

“But still, every time I laugh so hard, I feel like there's a rock on my nose. I can't laugh hard.

“The pain isn't that bad. It's not very uncomfortable, but we can breathe.”

Her videos have gone viral with many rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “Your mum's nose looks natural.”

Another said: “You both have such cute noses”

Some wondered why she did it, and many complimented her natural appearance before the surgery.

One wrote: “Why do it? I originally have such a thin nose and I never liked it that much.
