When you log into your account, it can be very annoying to have to remember and type a long password.

But now the gaming community can rejoice as a free update from Sony introduces an all-new password support system.

Essentially, users can now log in with their phone or computer using a screen unlock method – the same way they use their fingerprint or face to unlock your mobile.

To set up the swish new service, you will need to perform the following steps on your console.

First, go to your security settings, which are under the Account Management option. Once there, you can select the option to create an access key by following the on-screen instructions, reports gadget.

However, the company did let gamers know that a number of stumbling blocks – such as hardware security keys – could get in the way of installation and offered guidance if that were to happen.

They explained that it could be a more seamless process by using synced passcodes on mobile devices instead.

They recommended using iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, 1Password, and Dashlane as a passcode provider – and to avoid using Android-synced passcodes.

The fancy new service will prompt users to use their password when logging into their account (on the PS4 or PS5), but it’s not mandatory and can be turned off at any time.
