Rahul Gandhi will lead the Congress ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ from Manipur to Mumbai from January 14.

New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday downplayed Congress’ upcoming ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured ‘real nyay’ (real justice) by introducing and implementing pro-people development programs and the people of the country will not doing. fooled by ‘mere use of slogans’.

BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli alleged that Congress was trying to fool the people by “coming up with some slogans” while their leader Rahul Gandhi was seen in the company of people advocating “tukde-tukde” (partition) of India.

Kohli also alleged that the Congress leader is going abroad in search of foreign interference in the country’s democracy.

‘Real nyay’ done by Prime Minister Modi

The BJP leader asserted that “real nyay” is what Prime Minister Modi has been doing since 2014 by ensuring that development reaches every corner of the country and everyone. Kohli mentioned measures for electrification of every village, free rations for the poor, construction of subsidized houses and provision of Mudra loans to make his point.

“All this is happening because Prime Minister Modi cares about people. Mere use of slogans changes nothing. What changes is your intention and commitment to implement the good policies that Modi is pursuing,” he said.

‘Congress is an example of injustice’

In the same vein, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi asserted that Prime Minister Modi has provided “real” justice to all by ensuring that development reaches all.

Lekhi alleged that the Congress has done all kinds of injustices to the people and has run an unjust system for the many decades it was in power and that the party is the epitome of injustice.

The banking system was a major example of this injustice as bank loans were given due to personal connections with those responsible for NPA (non-performing assets) while Modi has laid the foundation for social justice by bringing millions of people into the financial system by opening their bank accounts, Lekhi said.

The Modi government has provided justice to the victims of the 1984 riots

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur took a swipe at the Congress over the yatra announcement and said those who for years have not provided justice to the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and sided with the ‘tukde- tukde’ gang, talking about ‘jaja’.

“How can those who could not provide justice to the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, which took place for years during their regime, provide justice to anyone,” Thakur told reporters when asked about the Congress yatra .

“How will those inducting members of the tukde-tukde gang and creating divisions on the lines of caste and region ensure justice,” the minister asked.

“It was the Modi government that initiated an SIT probe to provide justice to the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots,” he added.

Earlier in the day, the Congress announced that it will hold the Rahul Gandhi-led ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ from Manipur to Mumbai from January 14, which will pass through 14 states and 85 districts and end on March 20, a exercise seen as the party’s attempt to rally support ahead of the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections to be held in April-May.
