Prince Andrew took his usual weekend drive through Windsor this morning, shielding his eyes from the low winter sun as he left the royal estate.

The Duke of York, 63, looked solemn as he traveled through the grounds of Windsor Castle in Berkshire on Saturday, accompanied by another person.

He wore a navy blue fleece during his outing in a bid to stave off plunging temperatures as Britain heads into the cold winter months.

Andrew’s outing comes as he was backing away an offer from his ex-wife Duchess of York to land a lucrative on-screen role following her gig as co-presenter on ITV’s This Morning.

A source said the mirror that Andrew was ‘the catalyst’ for her accepting her role alongside presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Another source told the newspaper that the Duke is waiting for a deal with the Crown Estate to prove he has the money to meet a £2 million repair bill at Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he has lived since 2004 .

Andrew’s finances have come under renewed scrutiny since he was forced to step away from a public royal life following the £12million settlement with his former sex abuse accuser, Virginia Giuffre.

The disgraced royal has reportedly ‘provided no financial details’ despite reportedly being given permission by his brother King Charles to remain in the house indefinitely.

The Duchess of York’s guest edited and co-hosted This Morning on Monday.

During the love and relationships segment, the Duchess, 64, appeared as a suffering aunt, offering advice to two couples struggling with intimacy issues in their marriages.

This also included her thoughts on how to reignite their sex life.

Although some on social media said parts of her performance were ‘chaotic’, show bosses are said to have been delighted.

It was previously suggested that Andrew would be forced to leave his home.

He is said to have reached a ‘stalemate’ with the Crown Estate – which manages the royal residences – over the reparations bill.

The Duke is said to have already paid £200,000 for roof repairs at Royal Lodge this summer. But much more work is needed.

It is believed that Andrew was given an allowance of £250,000 a year by the late Queen, but this was subsequently reduced by Charles.
