Prince Constantine of Liechtenstein dies at the age of 51: third son of reigning Prince Hans-Adam II, seventh in the line of succession to the throne, ‘died unexpectedly’, the royal house announces

Prince Constantine of Liechtenstein has died unexpectedly at the age of 51, the country’s royal family has announced.

The father of three children was the third son of reigning Prince Hans-Adam II and seventh in line to the throne.

A statement read: ‘The Princely House regrets to announce that HSH Prince Constantin of and zu Liechtenstein passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2023.

‘Prince Constantin was Prince’s youngest son Hans Adam II. He is survived by his wife, Princess Marie of Liechtenstein, née Countess Kálnoky of Kőröspatak, and his children Prince Moritz, Princess Georgina and Prince Benedikt.

‘Prince Constantin was chairman of the supervisory board of Liechtenstein Group AG and member of the board of directors of Liechtenstein Group Holding AG.’

Prince Constantine of Liechtenstein (pictured with his wife in 2004) has died unexpectedly at the age of 51, the country’s royal family has announced.

Prince Constantin married Marie Kálnoky de Kőröspatak in 1999 Royal Central. They had three children together: Prince Moritz, 20, Princess Gina, 18, and Prince Benedikt, 15.

The cause of death of Prince Constantin has not been mentioned, local media report reported.

In tribute to the late royal family, the state parliament held a minute’s silence on Wednesday.

Afterwards, Apostolic Administrator Benno Elbs addressed a few words to the family of the late royal family, saying: FatherlandLiechtenstein’s largest daily newspaper: ‘It is with great sadness that I learned today of the death of SD Prince Constantin of Liechtenstein.

“On behalf of the Archdiocese of Vaduz, I would like to express my sincere condolences to SD Prince Hans-Adam II, the deceased’s wife, Princess Marie, and their children Prince Moritz, Princess Georgina and Prince Benedikt.

“I am united with them and the entire Royal Family in mourning and praying for the deceased.

‘This afternoon at 3 p.m. the bells rang in all parish churches of the archdiocese. I invite all believers in the Principality to join in prayers for Prince Constantin and thus express their solidarity with the Princely House.

‘I wish Prince Hans-Adam II, Princess Marie, the children and everyone who mourns the deceased much strength and comfort.

‘You may feel supported by the many people who pray for the deceased throughout the principality. God grant Prince Constantin eternal rest.’

Prince Constantin, who studied law, was general director and chairman of the board of the Prince Liechtenstein Foundation for eleven years.

The foundation owns almost all of the royal family’s assets, including reportedly one of the largest private art collections in the world.
