Máxima’s Christmas atmosphere! Queen of the Netherlands dresses in a Max Mara camel coat and festive red dress for a library visit in Rotterdam

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands looked the epitome of chic when she arrived at the Rotterdam Central Library this morning.

The Dutch royal, 52, bundled up against the autumn chill in her trusty Max Mara coat, which she has worn a number of times.

The Bahamas double-breasted design is made from camel-colored wool and features classic notched lapels and a detachable waist belt.

Maxima, who celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Het Begint met Taal foundation, wore her outerwear over a little red dress and completed her look with a matching hat and pumps.

The foundation helps 15,000 volunteers to support and coach 28,000 non-native speakers in learning the Dutch language and culture.

King Willem-Alexander’s wife showed off glamorous makeup, with heavy eyeliner, bronzed cheekbones and a glossy, nude lip.

The queen’s dress and accessories were also repeats. The first, first worn in 2018, featured a fitted silhouette and asymmetrical ruffles.

That same year, she debuted her scarlet calot hat by Fabienne Delvigne, while the Natan pumps take pride of place in the royal wardrobe.

It comes after Queen Maxima of the Netherlands rescued three hedgehogs, who now roam freely in the gardens of Huis ten Bosch Palace, a royal palace in The Hague.

The mother-of-three looked absolutely delighted as she posed with one of her spiky new friends in an Instagram post on the Royal Household’s Instagram account.

She grinned as she cradled the adorable creature, dressed in a chic beige trench coat and dainty hoop earrings.

The royal’s elegant ensemble — completed with sleek blonde locks and glamorous makeup — contrasted with her industrial neon orange gloves, which protected her hands from the animal’s spines.

A second photo also showed an adorable close-up of the forest animal.

A caption explained that ‘hedgehogs have a harder time in the Netherlands’.

“Due to the warm summer months, the worms are deeper in the ground and there are fewer crawling insects,” it says.

‘In recent years, more and more sick, weakened or injured hedgehogs have been coming to hedgehog shelters.

‘The habitat of the hedgehog has also become smaller due to buildings and increasing traffic.’

It was further said that Maxima had adopted three hedgehogs before releasing them into the palace gardens.

“The garden and the forest area offer sufficient food and space for the hedgehogs due to the many different plants and shrubs,” the message said.

It’s no surprise that the Queen loves animals; the family loves their white cross, Mambo, which stole the show in their annual family portrait earlier this summer.
