A SINGLE Russian fighter jet is ready to intercept an RC-135 reconnaissance plane over the Black Sea.

Russian state media also claim that the opposition force was flanked by a EuroFighter Typhoon.

The Russian fighter crew identified the air targets as an RC-135 electronic reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft and two RAF Typhoon multi-role fighter aircraft.

The Russian plane returned safely to its home airport. There was no violation of the state border of the Russian Federation, UK reports.
