Lady Samantha Cameron looked effortlessly stylish as she attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace with her husband David last night.

The mother, 52, wore a green patterned dress from her own brand Cefinn for the event, which formally welcomed South Korea’s President and First Lady to Britain.

The businesswoman’s £390 ‘Aurelie’ midi dress featured a ruffled hem and sheer floating cap sleeves.

Samantha brought out the embellishment of the dress and paired it with some gold hoop earrings.

The businesswoman completed her ensemble with a white box-shaped clutch and suede black heels.

Letting her statement dress take center stage, Samantha opted for a subtle makeup look – consisting of a bronze smokey eye and nude lip.

Meanwhile, Lord David Cameron – who officially took up his seat in the House of Lords this week – looked dapper in a black tuxedo and white bow tie.

The Foreign Secretary – who made a surprise return to Number 10 earlier this month – arrived at the event with Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden and his wife Blythe, who dazzled in a floor-length navy dress.

Last night’s appearance marked the first time Lord and Lady Cameron have appeared together in public since taking their new titles.

The 57-year-old led the country in the coalition government from 2010 to 2015 and then for another year as head of a Tory majority government.

But after leading the Remain campaign to defeat, instead of what he thought would be a comfortable victory, he quickly left Number 10 – and then Parliament – in humiliation.

His return to Cabinet as Foreign Secretary as Lord Cameron was a left-wing move in Rishi Sunak’s reshuffle this month.

The couple were joined at the banquet last night by senior members of the Royal Family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

At the start of the banquet, the king gave a speech full of Korean and references to K-pop culture, before an audience consisting of members of the world’s “biggest girl band.”

In his address to more than 300 attendees at the state banquet, including singers BLACKPINK, he welcomed them with a touch of Korean: “Yeong-gug-e osin geos-eul hwan-yeonghabnida [Welcome to Britain].’

Marking the 140th anniversary of Korea’s diplomatic relationship with Britain, the king described it as a “partnership in which close personal ties, nurtured over many decades, have today grown into a genuine sense of affection, or jeong , between our societies on so many levels’.

And he even joked about his own 1992 visit to the country with the late Princess Diana, saying, “Unfortunately, when I was in Seoul all those years ago, I’m not sure I developed much of what the Gangnam style could be called! ‘

Highlighting the “remarkable journey” Korea has completed in his lifetime, the king said, “The Koreans have created a miracle.

“Even at the time of my last visit, that journey was clearly just beginning. The drive and energy of the Republic of Korea continued unabated, and with it the impact on British lives. From refrigerators and flat screens to smartphones and semiconductors, it’s clear that the model of industrial efficiency I saw in Seoul thirty years ago has become the epitome of technological creativity today. ‘
