Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan recently responded to allegations of his connection to the case of eight Indian Navy veterans recently released from Qatar. Previously, these individuals were arrested by the country on charges of espionage and then released following the intervention of the Indian government. However, rumors started circulating indicating Shah Rukh's involvement in the situation due to his recent visit to the Middle Eastern country. SRK manager Pooja Dadlani responds to rumors against him

Shah Rukh's manager Pooja Dadlani has refuted the reports and stated on behalf of the actor. The message read: “Regarding the reports of Shah Rukh Khan's alleged role in the release of Indian Naval officers from Qatar, Mr. Shah Rukh Khan's office says such claims about his involvement are baseless, emphasizing on the implementation of this successful resolution. rests solely with the Indian government officials and unequivocally denies Mr. Khan's participation in this matter (sic).”

The report further said: “Furthermore, all matters relating to diplomacy and statecraft can best be carried out by our highly capable leaders. Mr Khan, like many other Indians, is happy that the naval officers are safe at home and wishes them all the best (sic).”

Shah Rukh Khan meets Qatar Prime Minister and FIFA President

The Dunki actor was earlier spotted at an AFC finals match in Qatar, Doha. There, Shah Rukh Khan met the Prime Minister of Qatar, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. The actor was also spotted posing with FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

Veteran officers of the Indian Navy reach India

In December 2023, the Qatar Court of Appeal reduced the death penalty for eight retired Indian Navy personnel. These individuals were detained by the Qatari military in October 2022. These eight veteran naval officers were accused of spying on the country's submarine program. They were sentenced to death by a Qatari court on unspecified charges. On February 12, seven of the eight former naval officers returned to India, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in an official statement.
