Skye Wheatley put on a much-loved display with her boyfriend Lachlan Waugh after revealing they had been to couples counselling.

The former Big Brother star and influencer shared a cozy video of herself and Lachlan packing on the PDA on Instagram on Friday.

In the video, the couple grinned as they stood on the construction site of their $975,000 Gold Coast mansion, which they are busy renovating to create their ‘dream home’.

Skye was seen gazing lovingly at Lachlan as he smiled as he jokingly danced along to the music as they recorded a funny skit.

As Skye turned around laughing, Lachlan turned her back to him and lifted her into the air, wrapping her arms affectionately around his neck.

She gushed in an accompanying caption: “POV: You created your dream home with your partner in crime.”

The loved-up post comes weeks after Skye revealed that she and her partner of six years, Lachlan, had been undergoing couples counselling.

The mother of two opened up about their relationship steps in a video shared to her Instagram Stories in January.

Skye explained that 2024 is all about achieving her goals, a journey that includes tackling the challenges in her relationship with Lachlan.

“Lockie and I went to a counseling session yesterday,” Skye – who shares children Forrest, five, and Bear, two, with Lachlan – began.

She talked about how the session, initially intended as occupational therapy for their son Forrest, turned into a much-needed conversation for them as a couple.

She said of the session: “Somehow this came up, and [the counsellor] was amazing, she just sat back and listened, she didn’t judge, she didn’t take sides.

‘She was very calm and I loved it. I thought: yes, I can get around this kind of guidance!’

Skye explained that she previously felt “judged” by a former counselor, but said the last therapist they saw gave her a new sense of positivity.

Skye first hinted at trouble in paradise with her relationship in February last year after revealing she and Lachlan were ‘on a break’ while ‘co-parenting’ their two children.

The couple tried co-parenting by caring for their children for two nights each, but the arrangement did not last and Lachlan later asked her to move back home.

She explained, “Basically we tried co-parenting. So I would get the kids for two nights, then he would get the kids for two nights. And then, yes, two nights on, two nights off.

“After I did that for a while, he said, ‘Okay, you can come home now,’” she said.

“Because, yeah, obviously I don’t think he liked it. We enjoy being together as a family. But I feel like we just needed a break. Just a break.

‘Obviously I didn’t want to be away from the children as long as we were away from each other. So during the break we just co-parented. Hopefully that makes sense.”
