Natasha's song is trending on TikTok as people use it in their videos, bringing it back to the masses and giving the star her first UK hit since her 2007 song Love Like This, which she collaborated on with Sean Kingston reached number 20.

Speaking about her music making a comeback on social media, the musician said: “I have had songs in films before but this time I really love the way it is used in such a special way that it gives you a joyful feeling gets from.'

She added, “People are even singing it when they leave the theater! Over the years, Unscribe has somehow become an anthem to sing at the top of your lungs. This makes me the happiest girl in the world.'

Fans of reality TV will also know Natasha's song Unscribed when it was used as the theme song for the MTV show The Hills from 2006 to 2010.

Following her recent chart success, it emerged last week that Sophie Ellis-Bextor had signed a big-money deal with her old record label.

Her song Murder On The Dancefloor is in the finale of Emerald Fennell's much-discussed film, in which main character Oliver – played by Barry Keoghan – dances naked to the song.

The popularity of the film – with the dance scene trending on social media – saw Murder On The Dancefloor in the top five most played songs in the world the week before.

The hit has also given the singer her first success in the lucrative US market – something that friends of the star say has 'surprised' her.

'Universal, her old record label, has picked her up and she will release new music later this year.

“She'll probably be a bigger star than she used to be.

“It's come out of the blue for Sophie and she's thrilled and very excited.”

“It feels a bit more real now, but I'm doing my best to just enjoy it.”

After hearing Murder On The Dancefloor live, 38-year-old Saltburn director Emerald Fennel was convinced it was the right song to use in her hit film – not least because the lyrics matched the film's script .

During the pandemic, Sophie – daughter of former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis – became a sensation after dancing in her kitchen and posting clips to social media.

It led to her making an album called Songs From The Kitchen Disco and it also landed her a deal with the BBC, which broadcasts a playlist of hers every week on the Sounds app.
