Taylor Swift attends the premiere of Emma Stone’s ‘Poor Things’

The pop star, 33, showed her support for her longtime BFFs by attending the premiere of their new movie Poor things at the DGA Theater in New York City on Wednesday, December 6. The singer channeled her Reputation era for the event, wearing an all-black ensemble with a Charlotte Simone faux fur coat, a long black dress and matching heels. She completed the look with soft face-framing curls and a bold red lip.

Stone, 35, and Qualley, 29, were also dressed to impress on their big night, with the La La Land star opted for a yellow, embellished floor-length dress, which she paired with a diamond-encrusted floral choker. For her part, Qualley looked effortlessly chic in a loose-fitting, sheer black dress and matching pumps.

Swift has been friends with both women for years. She bonded with Qualley, 29, after the actress started dating Swift’s longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff in 2021. (The couple tied the knot earlier this year.) Swift met Stone at the 2008 Young Hollywood Awards, and the duo have been close ever since.

Swift, meanwhile, talked about how important it is to have people she can “trust” – like her “sisters” Stone and Selena Gomez – while chatting with Access to Hollywood in October 2012, sharing that the trio had “so many things in our lives that have changed over the years, but our friendship has stayed the same.”

Stone confirmed that the duo’s bond was still strong when she attended Swift’s opening night Eras tour in Glendale, Arizona in March. During the concert, fans took videos of the Crazy, stupid, love actress who rocks out and sings along to the Grammy winner’s biggest hits, like “You Belong With Me.”

“The concert was pretty amazing,” Stone said Vanity fair in June 2023. She confessed that Swift was “addicted [her] up” when it comes to securing tickets. “She’s a great friend,” she added.

Some fans think Swift even used Stone’s past romances as inspiration for her music. When Swift got out Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) in July – a re-recording of her 2010 album – speculation arose over whether one of the vault songs, titled ‘When Emma Falls in Love’, would be about Stone’s real-life relationship with ex Kieran Culkin. (The exes were linked in 2009, around the time Swift probably first wrote the song.)

When Entertainment tonight asked Stone if she was the subject of the song on Wednesday Poor things At the premiere, she coyly replied, “You should ask her that.”

Swift’s last night on the town could serve as an opportunity to drop an Easter egg about her possible next re-recording. Swifties have speculated that the singer, who was just mentioned Time Person of the Year 2023, plans to delete Reputation (Taylor’s version)a reissue of her sixth studio album from 2017, in the coming months.

While being interviewed for her POTY cover piece, which was published earlier on Wednesday, Swift teased that it will feature never-before-heard songs Representative (TV) and that fans can expect them to be ‘fire’.

“It’s a goth-punk moment of female rage at being besieged by an entire social structure,” she called the record, noting how people often underestimate its themes. “I think a lot of people see it and think, ‘Sick snakes and strobe lights.’
