The Masked Singer UK's Bigfoot finishes in second place as their identity is revealed as TV favorite and former co-host of judge Davina McCall

The Masked Singer UK's Bigfoot was revealed as Alex Brooker as he finished second during Saturday's final – shortly before McFly's Danny Jones was crowned champion.

The Last Leg star, 39, beamed as he took off his huge mask and revealed the news would come as a huge shock to his daughters after keeping his involvement in the show a surprise.

Judge Davina McCall, who also co-hosted The Jump with Alex in 2014, had already pieced together the clues and guessed her boyfriend's identity.

He said: 'It was just the most fun. I love the show, my daughters love this show, they have no idea'.

'Girls, this is where daddy goes all the time, that's why daddy sings in the car!'.

It is not the first time during the series that a former colleague of Davina was exposed after Dippy Egg turned out to be none other than her Long Long Families co-host Nicky Campbell.

After that revelation, she jumped from her seat and ran onto the stage for a hug, struggling to hold back tears. Davina said: 'This is the best surprise, better than any birthday. I love this man!'.

'Nicky is a friend, we've been working together for thirteen years and I can't believe I didn't recognize your voice, I didn't recognize your singing voice. I know your singing voice. This is insane!'.

During the finale, Davina correctly guessed the identity of McFly guitarist Danny, but did not believe it was him when his identity was revealed.

He told her, “You got me, but you didn't believe it!”

Referring to Danny's bandmates Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, guest panellist Rob Brydon told Danny: 'If we've learned anything, it's time to dump those losers and get on with it. Those guys stopped you!'

On winning the show, Danny said: 'It feels surreal. Everything about this show and everything I just did is completely surreal! I have become a Piranha, and no longer Danny Jones!'.

Speaking about how difficult it was to keep his participation in this year's competition a secret, Danny said: 'Very difficult and even more so now that I've won.

'It's been really hard because I get excited about things very easily and I go all out when I do something. I'm supposed to be on tour.

“It was very difficult, but that's part of the fun, isn't it?”

And as to whether the rest of McFly would be surprised if they found out he was Piranha, he said: “I think the boys will be very surprised. I'm my own worst enemy, so I always say, 'That wasn't so good,' so they always build me up.

“They guessed me right away.”

It comes after Cricket became the first celebrity to have his identity revealed in the finale of The Masked Singer.

The celebrity panel, consisting of Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and special guest panelist Rob Brydon, all correctly guessed that the person was singer Lemar.

The contestants started the grand finale with a rendition of By Your Side by Calvin Harris featuring Tom Grennan.

Cricket was the first celebrity to sing solo at the final of the ITV1 reality competition, performing Vanessa Carlton's A Thousand Miles.

Panelist Gilligan guessed that the singer behind the costume could be Lemar, and Ora and Ross agreed.

Bigfoot was the second participant and sang The One And Only by Chesney Hawkes.

Gilligan guessed that the celebrity behind the mask could be Alex Brooker from The Last Leg, and Ross and McCall agreed.

Piranha sang Sam Smith's Lay Me Down and Ross said: 'I think it was the best performance, not just of this series, but of any series.

“That was extremely good.”

Gilligan suspected that the celebrity behind the mask could be Glee star Darren Criss.
