Dippy Egg was revealed as TV's Nicky Campbell, while Maypole turned out to be none other than Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton.

Nicky's revelation left the judge and his Long Lost Families co-host Davina McCall stunned as she jumped from her seat and ran onto the stage for a hug.

As she struggled to hold back tears, she said, “I can't believe it! This surprise is better than any birthday.”

Saying: 'I worked really hard to try not to be too Scottish, but I thought they were going to get me straight away, and I thought it was hilarious who they said'.

She also revealed that her family would be shocked by the news after keeping her appearance on the show a secret.

“My daughter just doesn't want to believe it because she always teases me that when we sing along in the car, I'm just making up the words to songs.”
