Tiffany Haddish avoided discussing her recent DUI charge during her stand-up set on Friday, November 24.
While at The Laugh Factory in Long Beach, California, an audience member asked Haddish, 43, what happened “last night.”
“Just tell me,” she joked via audio obtained by TMZ. “I prayed to God to send me a man with a job, a career, preferably in uniform. God has answered my prayers.”
Following her special Thanksgiving set at The Laugh Factory in West Hollywood, California, on Thursday, November 24, Haddish was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The comedian was cited by Beverly Hills police officers and was handcuffed and escorted to the back of their car.
TMZ was the first to report the news. According to the outlet, law enforcement received a call about a person who had been stopped in the middle of Beverly Drive and was apparently sleeping while the car continued to move.
After her set ended that night and prior to her arrest, Haddish posted Instagram videos of herself dancing at the Yachtley Crew concert.
‘What’s going on? Now I’m in Inglewood [and I’m] I’m trying to go to the Habesha party,” she said in a follow-up video posted on Thursday, November 23. “I’m trying to put on my East African. You know, I partied with the white people. Now I try to party with my East Africans, but they won’t let me into the club. They don’t let the hot dish in.”
This isn’t the first time Haddish has been arrested for driving under the influence. In January 2022, We weekly confirmed that Atlanta officers responded to a call of someone asleep at the wheel. Haddish, who was booked for driving while intoxicated and improperly stopping in a roadway, was released several hours later after posting $1,666 bond.
When Hadish appeared The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon later that month, she made a similar joke to Friday’s.
“I prayed to God to send me a new husband. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four… in uniform,” she said, also poking fun at the breakup of her relationship Just. ‘And now I have a very good lawyer, and we will work it out together. I need to ask God for my things a little better!”
