Triple J listeners were outraged by Doja Cat's controversial win on the Hottest 100, and now they say only Australian artists should be included.

One TikTok user called for a petition to be filed demanding the radio station go back to its roots and ban international artists during its annual music countdown.

Gemma Bezzina said she was “sick of it when non-Australian artists win” and added that Australian artists were “more appreciated” if they secured a place on the list.

“The way Doja Cat just won, she probably doesn't even care. She probably doesn't even know what the Hottest 100 is,” she ranted.

She went on to say that people like Doja didn't deserve the “privilege” of appearing on the countdown because “they literally couldn't give.”

Another outraged music fanatic went one step further and created a petition Change.orgcalling for 'justice for all our Aussies out there'.

“We love the triple J hottest 100, but how many times has your favorite artist been robbed by an American artist in the hottest 100?” it reads.

“God, what an absolute stinker of a countdown. Wwho the fuck is Doja Cat?” wrote one person.

“Like…why was Doja even voted into the #Hottest100? I'm so serious,” another asked.

“I like a bit of Doja, but her taking out number one is a slap in the face,” said another.

'Being Doja number one is insane… who voted for this s**t?' someone else chimed in, with another writing, “Doja Cat number one absolutely getting fucked.”
