Four killed in early morning house fire outside Albany

An early morning fire killed four people Saturday in New Scotland, NY, outside Albany, according to officials.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said on Twitter that local roads were closed and firefighters were dragging water to the blaze. Firefighters from multiple agencies were on the scene, he said.

“Please pray for our FFs and victims of this tragedy,” the sheriff wrote on Facebook, referring to the firefighters working to put out the blaze.

Officials had not yet identified the victims by Saturday morning.

The fire broke out at 64 Normanskill Road, according to a report in The Times Union. The address is linked to an old farm and family business called Circle Tree Nurserywhich has been in the hands of the same family for generations, according to a GoFundMe message from January.
