However, one woman has revealed that we’ve been using it wrong all this time and people can’t quite believe they didn’t know until now.

On social media, Brianna Joyce shared the simple two-second life hack that would change your baking game forever.

“You’re not listening to the parchment,” she began, holding up a sheet.

“IT’S DAMNED,” she continued, showing the problem we all have when we try to get it into a cake pan and it’s constantly lifting and moving.

She then took viewers to the sink as she looked into the camera with a mixture of frustration and focus.

Brianna took the parchment paper, rolled it into a ball, and ran some cold water over it.

“Blossom paper,” she joked as she held up the now soaking wet sheet of parchment paper.

“Now it will do its job because it is no longer dried out,” she continued.

The foodie then placed the parchment paper back into the cake pan and it looks like her two-second hack was enough as it quickly fit into the pan without moving.

The simple yet effective hack might be just what you need to make baking just a little bit easier next one time you try a cake recipe.

The clip was posted to her TikTok account @bjoyce777 has since gone viral with over 8 million views and 680,000 likes and sparked a huge debate in the comments section.

While some were grateful for the tip, others were still skeptical about how real it was

One person wrote: “Every day this app teaches me something.”

Another commented: “Is this real? Tell me the truth.”

“It doesn’t sound good, but I don’t know enough about parchment paper to dispute it,” a third wrote.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “I couldn’t find anything on Google and it’s not in the manual either, so it stays dry in my house.”

“I’m definitely not going to do that, I’ll just cut it to size,” claimed a fifth.
