News from the mysterious popping sounds spread like wildfire around the world while the rescue mission was underway.

It was previously thought that it could have been a desperate SOS call from the ship that was later found in pieces at the bottom of the ocean.

Search teams were alerted after Titan lost contact with its mothership and disappeared during an expedition to the Titanic wreck on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

After an agonizing wait for news on the second day of searching, reports emerged that bizarre sounds had been detected deep underwater.

The sounds came at 30-minute intervals and can now be heard for the first time in a new documentary.

The hair-raising booms came in pairs of two blows and had a regular hollow beat, attracting the attention of experts.

Former submarine captain Ryan Ramsey says in the Channel 5 documentary: “It could be that someone is knocking, the symmetry between those knocks is very unusual.

He added: “It’s rhythmic, it’s like someone is making that sound, and the fact that it’s repeated is really unusual.”

After the sound was first recorded around 11:30 PM on June 20, the US Navy confirmed that it had detected the sounds the next morning.

Coastguard Captain Jamie Frederick admitted he was baffled at the time, saying: “Specifically with the noises, we don’t know what they are, to be honest.”

The world watched in fear as rescuers urgently needed help have redoubled their efforts to locate the missing submarine before it was expected to run out of oxygen.

Tragically, the hope raised by the mysterious knocking sound was later lost as experts attributed the sounds to those of other ships in the area.

The Titan appeared to have imploded just meters away from the Titanic killing the five crew members in “milliseconds”.

A US defense official said they heard “an acoustic anomaly consistent with an implosion” just hours after the explosion. sub lost contact.

A spokesperson for the US Coast Guard said this debris found the search was “consistent with the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber”.

The mission was orchestrated by OceanGate, a private company that provided manned submarines for tourism and research.

OceanGate said: “real explorers” Stockton RushBritish billionaire Hamish Harding, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman tragically died during the dive to the wreck of the Titanic.

Now a new documentary is being released to mark one year since the tragedy.

It goes behind the scenes of the multimillion-dollar search operation.

Minute by Minute: The Titan Sub Disaster explores the events leading up to Titan’s nightmare expedition to the Titanic wreck.
