THIS is the shocking moment a police officer punched a driver who honked his horn for failing to turn right at a red light.
Dashcam footage from Thomas Brocuglio’s company van captured the entire confrontation – from the moment he honked to the moment the Connecticut police officer attacked him.

Corporal Allen Ganter of the Meriden Police Department had stopped at a red light at an intersection when Brocuglio pulled up behind him.
Brocuglio says he waited for the off-duty police officer to turn right, assuming he was unaware of the traffic behind him.
After blowing his horn, Brocuglio makes a gesture to insinuate that the officer was sitting on his telephonebefore raising his finger at him.
You can then hear him say, “What are we doing? What are you doing? Waiting all day.”
The Dash Cam Footage shows Ganter getting out of his Toyota Tacoma and confronting Brocuglio.
As he approached Brocuglio’s vehicle, dressed in Fitness center shorts and a zip-up fleece, the officer waved his badge at him.
Then he said: “You can’t turn right, you a*****e.”
Brocuglio responded by asking, “Really? Where is that? It says ‘stop here on red’.
Brocuglio then accused Ganter of using his phone.
Ganter vehemently denied using his phone, even when the driver said he saw him look down and said he had moved something in his bag.
The officer began taking pictures of Brocuglio’s license plate and threatened to call his supervisor and give him a ticket.
Brocuglio then asks for Ganter’s badge number, but he receives a good punch to the face.
As the officer walks away, Brocuglio says, “You’re being arrested for assaulting a citizen.”
He then immediately called 911 to explain the assault in further detail.
Brocuglio said: “I just got attacked by a police officer. He punched me in the face through my window.”
He added that he believed he may have suffered a concussion, as described in an arrest warrant for Ganter.
Photos taken by Rocky Hill Police Department officers showed significant swelling and redness on the left side of his face.
After Rocky Hill officers approached Ganter for a statement, bodycam footage showed the officer asking if he could press charges.
He said, “Is he filing charges against me, like trespassing, because I yelled at him and all that?”
After the Rocky Hill officer explained that Brocuglio was accusing him of assault and that the entire incident was caught on camera, Gant asked if he could press charges for breach of the peace.
He asked: “So he’s saying I hit him? And there is nothing I can insist upon for breach of the peace, because he shouts at me?
Ganter then admitted to punching Brocuglio.
He said, “My fault, I’m wrong, I shouldn’t have done that.”
Photos were also taken of his hands, which had a large red spot on the index finger of his right hand.
The disgraced officer was charged with both breach of the peace and third-degree assault.
The Meriden Police Department conducted an investigation into Ganter’s conduct and found that he had violated the department’s code of conduct.
Ganter has since been suspended without pay for five days and must also complete three years of de-escalation training.
