Wayne Lineker’s strained relationship with brother Gary as he reveals a 15-year feud
WAYNE Lineker has revealed his relationship with his older brother Gary is “not that good” and the pair barely speak.
The 61-year-old owner of the Ibiza nightclub said he has been estranged from the Match of the Day presenter since 2008, but insists there is no bad blood.

The bitter feud between party-loving Wayne and his football legend brother, Gary 63, has long been the subject of intense scrutiny and speculation.
But the cheeky TV personality has now opened up about the fact they have grown further apart.
“It’s not that good to be honest, we don’t really speak often. I will always be his biggest fan,” he told the Mail‘s podcast Straight to the comments!
Despite being as thick as thieves in their youth, the infamous club mogul explained that their differences became apparent as they got older.

“I had all the skills in the world, but I had no commitment, no obligations, I just wanted to be out there with the boys.”
Instead, he explained, “Gary had all the dedication there was, he was super committed, but we’re completely different siblings.
“He’s very straight and thin, and I’m very naughty and high. So yeah, that’s how we’ve always been.”
Wayne, who owns the wild O Beach Club loved by Love Islanders and Jack Grealish, insisted he has a good relationship with his four cousins – George, Harry, Angus and Tobias – who call him ‘Space Wayne’.
“We’re so close. We have a very strong relationship,” he said, adding that they ended up carrying him home after a night out.
But despite his brother’s success in entertaining millions in one of TV’s highest-paid pundit roles, Wayne claims he beats him to the punch when it comes to social media.
He said he takes more than 2,000 selfies every week with his adoring fans who come to his famous nightclubs just to meet him.
“I worked it out and I think I’m the most photographed person in the world.”
He joked: “You haven’t been to Ibiza unless you’ve had a photo with Wayne, that’s the truth.”
Wayne has previously claimed his bitter relationship with Gary dates back to 2008, when the footie star was preparing to marry lingerie model Danielle Boux.
An alleged disastrous introduction to Ibiza left the siblings angry with each other after Wayne claimed Boux had no interest in getting to know him.
Wayne was invited to their star-studded wedding a year later, but his 18-month-old girlfriend was boycotted by the NFI, leading to him boycotting the ceremony.
Their relationship, Wayne has previously admitted, never recovered.
On the recent podcast, the club legend also discussed the painful moment a Wembley Arena crowd chanted ‘pedo’ at him last year.
He had been brought on stage as a guest to promote the Peter Crouch Podcast, but a murmur began to ripple through the crowd.
“Suddenly, twelve thousand people are calling me a pedo because they think it’s funny,” he remembers.
Wineker thinks it was because people judged him for having a string of girlfriends between the ages of 25 and 30.
“It all comes from Twitter. I had to quit because I was getting so much abuse,” he revealed.
The owner of the O Beach nightclub was so upset by the incident that he left immediately.
