Former Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov61, who had held the post for five years, paid the price of the destruction of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Through Ukraine kamikaze drones at sea.

The Russian The dictator faces an immediate crisis in the war, as the fleet’s warships have not put to sea for six days – for fear of further sinkings.

One theory is that Moiseev’s promotion to commander of the Arctic-based Northern Fleet is that his appointment is intended to send a signal to the West about the threat of nuclear war.

Moiseev – a recipient of the Kremlin‘s highest honor, “The Hero of Russia” – was the first man to launch satellites into space, fired from the submerged K-407 Novomoskovsk he commanded.

His entire career has been surrounded by nuclear submarines – a crucial part of Russian politics.nuclear triad‘ – and he is also known to have tested Russia’s latest weapons.

There has been no formal announcement of Moiseev’s promotion yet, but it is widely seen as a matter of time.

The independent Vot Tak TV reported: “The reasons for Yevmenov’s resignation have not been disclosed, but they seem obvious – the complete helplessness of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, which continues to lose combat ships in confrontations at a rate of one ship per month. with Ukrainian naval drones, as well as deep systemic problems in the management of the Russian Navy.”

Last Tuesday, the £51m Sergey Kotov patrol vessel, one of Putin’s newest naval vessels, was sunk by a swarm of unmanned MAGURA V5 attack drones.

A video clip from the patrol, the Sergey Kotov corvette, showed the ship blown to bits by a swarm of Ukrainian jet ski-powered sea drones.

The £51 million ship was hit several times during the early morning attack near Feodosia, in occupied Crimea.

The attack forced Kremlin officials to close Putin’s prized Kerch Bridge Crimea.

Last month the large £170 million Caesar Kunikov landing ship was also destroyed.

Ukraine’s military intelligence service GUR released images of the daring attack – led by special forces from Group 13 – showing the silhouette of the ship just before it is destroyed by the explosion.

A clip from another naval drone then appears to show the mighty ship lying on its side in the Black Sea.

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on the sinking.

Several large landing ships have been sunk, including the Novocherkassk, which was hit on December 26, 2023.

Russia is believed to have lost more than a quarter of its fleet – some 21 ships – in the war, including the early 2022 sinking of the flagship Moskva, by a Neptune missile attack by Ukraine.

So was the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol hit by a rocket attack last year.

By combining powerful missiles with kamikaze naval drones, Zelensky‘s army has impressively wiped out Vlad’s beloved warships.

Dr. Bastian Giegerich, security analyst for British Military think tank International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) said Ukraine has had “great success” in attacking Russian naval targets.

Giegerich said: “Kiev continues to attack the Russian Black Sea Fleet with great effect.”

“Through the use of drones and missiles at sea, including the Western-supplied Storm Shadow missiles, Ukraine has “eroded the operational effectiveness of the fleet through creative strategy and tactics.”

Meanwhile, Putin has continued his desperate efforts downplays the actual losses his army suffered in the Black Sea.
