A new update to Waze now informs users about approaching speed bumps and sharp turns.

A sudden speed bump can cause damage to a vehicle, while a sharp turn without warning can lead to a collision.

Waze has told users via an in-app notification: “You may receive warnings to pay attention to the road, such as before sharp turns.”

It’s just one of many useful features built into Waze, like the ability to see alerts about the history of crashes on your routes and cost-causing potholes.

According to 9to5Google, the company has been working on this feature for several years.

After officially announcing the feature’s arrival in early 2023, Waze has only just started rolling it out.

It comes shortly after a redesign of Waze’s incident reporting system, which better organizes reporting options such as hazards, roadworks and police activities.

Although Waze is one of Google Maps’ biggest rivals, it is not a skin of Google.

Waze was bought by Google in 2013 for $1.3 billion.

Google has a history of integrating Waze’s technology into its own maps.

The company operated independently and developed technology and new features separately from Google until a few years ago.

In 2022, Waze’s 500-strong team joined the Google Maps team.
