The Anonymous Redditor u/Necessary_Guard3008 shared the wedding drama in a post.

As someone who worked in events, she loved planning every detail.

Because her husband has ADHD, he decided to leave everything to her.

“His standard answer is ‘whatever you want.’ So I’ve had complete creative freedom, but I’m a little sad that he didn’t contribute to anything, not even the color scheme,” she said.

In a discussion about the wedding matters, the bride came up with ideas to reduce wedding costs.

“My girlfriend joked that it was a good thing my fiancé locked me up because I’m a professional,” she said.

“My fiancé joked that he didn’t lock me up, I locked him up. He said he was trying to enjoy his last days of freedom before I locked him in.”

The “joke” was not well received.

I’m afraid the whitish dress I received isn’t suitable for a wedding – people tell me not to wear it, but the bride agrees

“I felt really upset because he didn’t acknowledge my hard work in planning the wedding and because he joked that I was setting him up for marriage and pushing him to get married,” she said.

‘I’ve decided that we should call off the wedding for now. He had no interest in getting married and I don’t want to marry someone who isn’t enthusiastic about getting married.’

The bride explained that RVSPs had not yet been sent out as they were still in the early stages of wedding planning.

“I want to call it off before it becomes an even more expensive mistake,” she said.

Despite her reaction, her fiancé felt like she took his “joke” too seriously.

“He was very angry that I had called off the wedding and said he was just joking. He said it was normal to joke about this,” she said.

Divorced women thought she had made the right decision and warned her to learn from their mistakes.

“You’re smarter than me. My ex made this ‘joke’ and I laughed it off. I was definitely the one trapped. Run. NTA,” one commenter said.

“Married men live longer on average than unmarried men, so they clearly benefit,” said another.

‘Time to stop this manipulative BS that tries to make women think they don’t want to get married. You did the right thing.’

“NTA please don’t marry him. I messed up and married my ex after he behaved the same way and I called it off. He talked me into it again and it was the biggest mistake of my life said a third. .
