“I bought a suitcase for £40,” she wrote in the paper after on Reddit’s Vinted thread.

“It had dead bugs on the inside – super gross!”

“The seller claims they’re not bugs, but when I look at them, they’re dead bugs.”

She continued to reveal that the seller had given her the chance to return the suitcase, but she would have to do so at her own expense.

“What would you do?” she asked.

“Vacuum the dead bugs, steam clean the inside and use the case?

“Or take the time out of your busy (super busy) life to repack the suitcase and send it back to the sender?”

“I am so angry and disgusted,” she concluded.

People were quick to give her advice, with one person writing: ‘I would clean the trunk and leave the seller a bad review.

“Can you attach photos to reviews? If so, I would attach photos of the bugs.”

“I did what you suggested,” the buyer then replied.

“I wrote: ‘Dead bugs in suitcase. About the size of linseed, so hard to photograph, but still pretty gross.

“‘It was too expensive for me to return so I had to clean it myself. I wish the seller would have cleaned it.

“‘I hope in the future you will consider cleaning the inside of your suitcases before shipping them to buyers.'”

The seller then replied: ‘I explained to you that it is virtually impossible for there to be insects in the suitcase as it has been stored in a low temperature storage area.

“Second, you sent me a photo of some things that don’t look like insects in a million years, and I didn’t get a response from you when I asked you to send me another photo of the inside.

“That could have been your suitcase and you accused me of it.”

The buyer then added, “Hopefully that response makes them look worse than me in this whole messy interaction.”

“(I opted not to send them another photo when they asked because what’s the point? I had already sent them three!)”

“I would just raise it as a case with Vinted because it’s not as described and pay for the return shipping,” someone else suggested.

“It’s quite a lot of money and the fact that they are so open about it would irritate me too.”

“The blazé approach combined with denial really makes me angry!” the buyer responded.

“I found a bunch of stink bugs in my luggage when I came back from Italy a few years ago, so it could happen without you knowing, I guess, but instead they should apologize if they sold it to you without it to wit,” another commented.

“I would clean it out and leave a review reflecting this if it was a really good deal on the suitcase.”
