I spent a year wearing tampons incorrectly – it’s the most embarrassing story I could tell

EVERY woman has an awkward period story, but one woman takes the cake.

She revealed that she had been using tampons incorrectly for a year before a friend showed her the trick.

In her videoCrystal Frost (@kristalvorst) told the story, which she said may be “the most embarrassing story anyone has ever told on TikTok.”

The TikToker offered some background before starting the story.

First she explained to her audience that she grew up with divorced parents.

“I am the product of divorced parents and Mother Nature knocked on my door while I was at my dad’s house,” Chrystal said.

She also shared that her educational background was very limited in certain areas.

“During my prepubescent years, I went to a school that taught you that the Earth was no older than 10,000 years, so you can bet I didn’t know there was a third hole,” she joked.

Chrystal told her followers that she found a tampon when she got her first period and inserted it properly.

“So I set it up the way I thought [I was supposed to] and just went about my day,” she said.

“Well, I kept this up for a whole year until the summer after my freshman year.”

Just before she was about to become a sophomore in high school, Chrystal’s friend made a revelation to her.

“My friend Jordin was over and she asked me if I wanted to go swimming and I was like, ‘Well, I can’t go swimming because I’m on my period,’” she said.

After Jordin pointed out that she should still be able to swim with a tampon in, Chrystal started listing the things she couldn’t do because the pads fell out.

In addition to swimming, the teen told her friend that every time she peed, her tampon would come out.

When Jordin asked how exactly she inserted her tampon, Chrystal replied, “Like a hot dog.”

Once she got over her initial confusion, Jordin showed Chrystal the proper way to use a tampon.

“She then explained to me that a tampon is like a cork. If your boat is sinking, you have to plug the hole,” Chrystal said.

“From then on, I ditched the hot dog style and wore my tampon correctly.”

She joked that the moral of the story is, “Don’t let your kids live under a rock or they’ll end up like me.”

“I don’t talk to Jordin anymore, but she changed the course of my life,” Chrystal said.

Her followers shared their thoughts on the embarrassing story in the comments section.

“I knew someone who wore them with the whole cardboard applicator still attached, poor thing,” one viewer wrote.

“To be honest, as soon as you said hot dog I was like, ‘Yeah, that makes sense,'” said another TikTok user.

“This was LITERALLY the first three months. I thought I was alone the whole time,” said a third person.
