Since returning to Britain, she has appeared on her podcast Uncut and Uncensored with her Spanish husband Carrallo, who is 18 years her junior.

Footage shared by the podcast on their Instagram last week shows her covering her face with huge sunglasses while wearing her hood and the microphone in front of her.

The socialite admitted on the podcast: ‘I decided to get a facelift without any information. I skipped that surgery like having a mole removed.

“This is LA – so, unlike other places where you’re sort of taken to the hospital and feel like you’re having a medical experience, here you’re taken to a back room of an office, just like you’re having a filler. They put you to sleep and removed your face.

“It felt like I had been in a car accident and there was no way the car had won.”

Stanbury, who has three children, said of the ordeal with the unnamed doctor: ‘He managed to cut two inches off my neck and then the full width of my ear off my face.

‘The shape of my face is completely wrong for a human: the top half is wider than the bottom half, and my neck is too thick. I have stitches on the front and back of my ear and on my eyelids.’

She explained why she went under the knife: ‘I wanted to look exactly like me, but fresh.

‘I’ve had my upper lip and my eyelids done, where they remove the excess skin, because I’m 47. I did the lower neck, and my neck is so tight now.

‘I really thought it was half a facelift and I only had one appointment and paid the money.’

She said of the results: ‘There’s no trace of my face in that face – it’s petrified. I wanted to sue my doctor because if you just look at your face, everything is in the wrong place.

“Obviously after the surgery things swell differently, on each side, nothing looks even, and my neck doesn’t move, so it looks like a tree trunk.”

Sergio said he was desperate after her surgery.

“There are two women – the one last week and the woman this week – I don’t recognize her,” he said.

‘It was the worst experience of my life. I cried; I tried to look for her and find my wife.”

He adds: ‘Mentally and emotionally I was on the floor. No words can describe how much I suffer when I look at my wife.

“I don’t want my wife to look fake, I want her to look natural.”

Caroline, who was previously married to Turkish businessman Cem Habib, said she was also moved to tears.

‘When he cried, I started to cry, but my tears were blood. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done and no one prepares you for it.’

Despite her painful ordeal, she hopes there is light at the end of the tunnel.

She said: ‘They say I should feel more human on day 11. My friends who did it said it would make me feel a lot more like myself.”

The Bravo star’s husband shared a video on his Instagram on Thursday documenting his wife’s experience receiving her facelift.

The video started with Carrallo, 29, sitting in his car waiting for his wife’s surgery to finish, and he also shared his reaction to seeing her for the first time after the procedure.

The reality TV personality’s wife also included several clips from the first few days after surgery, in which Stanbury’s face and neck were bandaged.

He then shared clips taken while his wife was adjusting to her new look and undergoing several post-operative procedures.

Carrallo concluded his video by showing his wife’s face during the final stages of her healing process.

Stanbury’s husband also wrote a lengthy message in which he recalled that seeing his wife emerge from the operating room was “probably one of the hardest moments of my life.”

“It was very difficult to see the person you love with all your heart suffering and in pain…,” he added.

Carrallo then revealed that although he objected to the procedure, he was determined to support his wife in whatever she wanted to do.

“As a husband, I will always support her and be there for her, and as much as I was against it, she really wanted to do it. So I was there for her and supported and helped her day in and day out,” he wrote.
